i do play sports a friend of mine was telling me it can make you more injury prone? is taht true?
sorry about spelling guys!

n thanks

Accutane can have some pretty harsh sides but nothing beats it when it comes to treating your acne. Start off with a low dose of 40mg/Day for the first 2 months, then increase to 60mg/Day for the next 2 months. Get Cetaphil to combat the dry skin and Carmex to help with the chapped lips. I've heard Accutane can increase the chance of muscle pulls/tears but never seen any hard evidance or studies to back up that claim.

That's a big negative on the cetaphil. Only use cetaphil if you're not on accutane. cetaphil can dry you out more. I ran a 6 month accuane cycle about 6 months ago, i was at 60 for the first 2 months until i started developing the accutane rash on my forearms, which means it's working, then I increased it to 80mgs for the next 4. Go to the store (walgreens) and look for a small tube called "aquafore" by "Eucerin". It comes in little 2 - 3 oz tubes and looks like vaseline/carmex. use that on your lips every hour. it works so much better than anything else. Also, use Vaseline Intensive care cream (comes in a 3-6 oz bottle or a big ass one) , looks white with a blue top. That one goes on without a SMELL and is dry. Put that on throughout the day and use some sort of eye lubricant. use the eye lube every hour. My eye doc told me that when your eyes are dry, it's too late, so while on accutane, every hour atleast 1 drop in each eyeball. outside of those sides, i wouldn't worry 2 much about it. But the smart thing to do is NOT be on gear while treating your acne! This treatment (40 for the 2 months, next 4 at 80) will cure your acne for life. It's just best not to be on anything because accutane will raise your liver values...trust me! any q?s pm me..

Not the case with me! I used Cetaphil for my dry skin on cycle and it was a godsend.

Personal experience only: I used Accutane in high school and began having massive migraines about 2wks after I started it. They ended when I went off it about 1.5 later. I have no factual evidence the two were linked, just my own experience, so take it with a grain of salt. It did completely clear up what acne I had.

is that 1.5 moths years weeks later ???
were the headaches when you wake upo or all through the day

I took it a couple years ago for the back also. I was worried about what I had read, but it was the last option I had, I tried everthing else. My doctor calmed me down about the sides. 40mg the first three weeks, then 80mg for another 5 weeks. I've not had anything even close to a pimple on my back or face since. Only sides I had were dry lips & ears. It went away when I stopped. Give it a shot, it sure as hell works.
