i ahve been on accutane for only 8/20 weeks and all my acne is gone....it is only toxic to your liver if you consume large amounts of vitamin A...also it can raise your chloresterol level so that why they do both tests...i am on 40 mgs twice a day and already is is kicking ass...take care..jellyman01

Any other negative sides? I heard it hurts your joints and makes lifting hard. Are you all dried out? I am thinking of getting on it. DO you have scars from the acne before or does acutane help clear everything up? Thanks.

Accutane

For me, accutane was a wonder drug. I took it as a teen, and it did wonders for my complexion. Be careful of the sun as it will increase your sensitivity. The only major pain in the a-- was that it really dried out my nose giving me mild nose bleeds. Towards the end of my course, I did experience some mild joint pain, but nothing serious. Get your blood tests as it could seriously raise your cholesterol levels.

B007, How long did it take to clear you up. Once you cleared up your rid of acne forever aren't you? That's what I heard anyway. Anyone taken accutane while on gear? Any adverse reactions? I really am sick of acne on my forehead!

do not take accutane while on gear. and it is not the cure for acne because you can still get zits but I mean they wont be as bad maybe like 1 or2 pimples every once and a while. Accutane is supposed to last up to 5-6 years after you stop taking it...I am on my 4th month in a couple of days and I will say nothing works like it......I am dry as fuck but no wheres near as dry as when I first started taking it and my lips are not that bad anymore.......by the way I am on 120mlgs right now.....hope this helps////////PEACE

I don't know very much about accutane, but I think it is an antibiotic. I've heard that you don't want to take antibiotics while you're on gear because it will take away from your gains. Am I right???

Not a cure

BTL,

Do NOT take accutane while on gear - your liver will be busy enough...As for the accutane, it's not a total cure for acne as your acne *may* return after a couple of years - requiring a second course. Most, however, take one course and are acne free from then on. Keep an eye on the sides, though, for me, clear skin far outweighted the excessive drying and other irritating side effects. Good luck, and do keep up with the blood tests while using it...

It IS hard on your liver even IF you are not taking additional vitamin A supplements.

So, its not a good idea to do Accutane while on gear - especially Orals.

Accutane is not an antibiotic (LOL - where do people get this info ?) its actually (in a simple way) a synthetic form of Vitamin A.

Accutaine is extremely harsh on your liver so stay away from any other oral medications while on. My liver enzymes skyrocketed with 80mg/day propmting my physician to first lower the dosage to 40mg, then to completely cease perscribing it to me. I am finishing my fourth month now and there has been a dramatic improvement!
