Bro...the best we can all tell you is go to the doctor. We will not give medical advice. Honestly...if I was a MOD I may even lock this thread so you do not get the wrong information.

Best of luck.

i had one and I tried to drain it and could not do it. the small pieces of skin will clog up the needle.

however mine wasn't the bad abscess you are describing..mine was a sterile abscess and mine went away after a month. if you have redness, fever, etc etc.. then you've got yourself the bad king of abscess and should go to a doc.

also you need to figure out WHY you got it so it doesn't happen again.

did u not inject deep enough? did u inject the same spot too many times in a short time frame? you need to figure that out before you continue giving yourself more abscesses

Yes...I am not advocating you do that! Just wanted you to see what you are dealing with when it is an abscess!

Good Point bro!!!! I am editing my post to state that!

lol, we all knew it was implied, but i just wanted to re-iterate to prevent a wave of noobs asking what to do about their blood infection from the abscess they tried to self medicate:biggrin:

I agree with the above... Obviously go to a doctor.

This brings up an important point, though. If you don't go to your doc because you don't want to be judged/are afraid of being criticized then you need to find a different doctor. Not all docs are old school pricks.

If your doctor knows you're on gear he/she will have an eye out for potential sides, order the right tests, etc. It's against the law for them to "rat you out".

There are also physicians out there who are recklessly prescribing stuff they know nothing about. The best ones know gear, probably won't give you any (or more than you need) but are willing to keep you healthy while you take your chances.

First of all, is it deep in the muscle, or can you feel a ball under the skin? If it's in the deep muscle (1 inch or deeper, maybe), you might also have a hematoma (broken vessel and bruise deep). That feels like an abscess, and it hurts like F*** and lasts a couple weeks or more. But I don't think I've heard of anyone getting a fever from those. I've had two of them. If it is an abscess, and it's NOT getting any smaller, or IS getting bigger, I'd go to the doctor. I doubt the doctor will believe the thumb tack on the chair story; especially if you're all buff, so tell the (partial) truth. Maybe say your GF dared that you couldn't take the pain of a needle, and you accepted the dare, or something, and got B12.

A Penrose drain may have to go in, which stays in there for awhile. It won't hurt because they'll numb it all up first, and then use a scalpel to dig a channel down to the abscess, suck out as much as possible, and then close it up with the drain in place. Then when it's healed up, they can just pull the drain out and put a band aid on it.
