abscess treatment

youstoned

New member
did 1ml shot of test e to right glute. 5 days later it is swollen and little warmer then left side.
Yesterday I got a small fever so i started some antibotics
I'm taking 500mg Ammoxiclin and 100mg Doxycycline hyclate every 6hrs since yesterday

Today swelling has gone down. Also fever is gone.
I really want to avoid going to doctors but i will if no other choice.

Is my treatment fine or would i still have to get it drained?
What kind of antibotics and how long used by others
in my situation?

You will have to drain it. It's easy just use a 18g pin and drain it out with a 5 or 10cc syringe.
But also if it gets worse go to the doctors immediately.

How long before i should drain it. Also is it painful?
Is it on same level as pinning except bigger needle or should i take a vicodin beforehand?

In all honesty you should seek a medical professional when wanting it drained. I would hate to have you drain it yourself than come back with a new post about how it is still infected (didn't get all of it drained and a small pocket developed). It is cleaner, safer, and just a plain old good idea to get it drained by a doctor especially seeings how you are experiencing fevers and it is warm to touch.

Is there a possibility i wont have to get it drained? I hear all the time people go to doctors and just get antibiotics.

what she said.

an abscess is NOT a joke.

go to the doctor and tell them your friend played a trick on you and put a tac on your chair and you sat on it and now you have an infection.

if there is a white head at all, and its not just a lump, a warm compress and squeezing the shit out is possible if it is closer to the surface. the deeper it is the more likely you should stop f'n around and go to the doctor.

that being said, some people do get reactions to their gear and have swelling and redness and it is NOT an abscess. but if you have a fever and it is getting worse its probably not that

If it is truely an abscess antibiotics will not touch it. An abscess is walled off from blood flow from the body so it cannot absorb the medications. If the swelling is decreasing it probably is not and may possible be a reaction to the gear. However, like everyone says...a doctor is the best way to go. I am not willing to give medical advice. Abscesses are nasty and disgusting! It is like draining the biggest zit in the world. If you are bored and have a strong stomach type drain abscess into youtube...but..you have been warned! YUCK!

DSICLAIMER: I AM IN NO WAY SAYING DRAIN IT YOURSELF! THAT IS THE LAST THING YOU SHOULD DO-GO TO THE DOCTOR. I JUST WANTED YOU TO SEE HOW NASTY A REAL ABSCESS IS!

also just to add, trying to slice it open and draining it yourself like in the youtube vids is a HORRIBLE idea because you can spread the infection.

Yes...I am not advocating you do that! Just wanted you to see what you are dealing with when it is an abscess!

Good Point bro!!!! I am editing my post to state that!
