Abs & squats

should i work my Abs to help increase my squat? i do some ab work but generally light. should it be worked like my legs?
 
in order to properly train your abs you need to work them heavy and hard. Some exercises i find to work well are standing abs, spread eagle situps, and decline weighted situps. Keep your rep range pretty low 6-12. For myself 2 exercices for 3 sets works well. I try to rest only 1 minute between sets. If you need any help just drop me a pm

thanks guys i understand how i should work them but what i am trying to get at is is it really that importnant towork them to improve my squat?
 
Yes you really need to train your abs to help your squat. you need strong abs and you need to learn to use your abs when you squat if you havent already
 
I like what needsize said awhile ago, decline static holds, you go down most of the way and then come back up, do 5x5 for them
