? about implants and chest workout

TEXgrl

New member
i do very little chest work since i got my implants about a year ago. i have mine under the muscle and would like to add something to my current workout. right now, i do dumbells on an incline and the pec deck, sad i know. is there anything i should avoid? what can i add?

A girl I’m friends with just got them under the muscle..i saw them the other day after 4 weeks…amazing job..they went through the arm pit.

From what she was telling me…it isn’t a good idea to train with those type? I though that was strange as I thought it didn’t matter but I know most fitness/bb/figure chics get it OVER the muscle.

What did your Dr. say about working out?

basically he said that i could continue as long as it wasn't heavy lifting. for the longest time, i felt a real pull when i tried to do any chest, just in the last two or three months has that gone away so i'm looking to add some exercises but don't want to mess anything up.

the thing about plastic surgeons is they don't have much to say about anything once they've got your money and done the surgery. i am due for a follow up soon, so i'll probably go over this again.

I started training my first bb competition 4 months after I had mine done, also under the muscle - tho not thru the armpit. I asked my doc about it several times because I felt I wasn't able to get the development I had a few years prior to the surgery. He said there was no reason it should be affected at all. I also noticed the tightness in the chest muscle whenever it contracts. For the first few months it was really tight, but after working it, it went away. I also notice that when I take some time off from the gym or chest or just dont' work it as hard, it does get tight sometimes. Personally I think that's just a scar tissue thing -- this would happen with any type of alteration to your body - e.g. tight muscle, etc. No big deal. I would say there's no reason to limit what you do. And to illustrate that point - you will notice that most fbb's have boob jobs and they continue to train as hard and have amazing chest development. Not all fbbs got 'over the muscle'. The question has been asked a number of times here and I have yet to hear a doctor provide substantiated reasons why you would have to limit your weight lifting. The general rule of thumb applies tho - if it hurts, dont' do it. If its tight, work it out until its comfortable.

Sassy69 - your comments are what i would have said...

i will say that i still feel tight and i cant go as heavy as before, but i have been doing eveything to work chest, i just cant go as heavy...well i can but it hurts....

This right here has convinced me to go over the muscle if I ever lose the ones I've got! I lift heavy all the time and would never want to experience a setback like that. I guess there is a difference between powerlifters/strongwomen and bodybuilders...in that aspect, too.

They look nice, though, TEXgrl! :)

A friends doctor said that she could still work chest only if she used a full support bra, you know to avoid them from moving and keep them well in place... to start with low weights until getting more strength.

Funny how this subject came up. I was just researching the subject last night. According to the pages, it's a good idea to do chest work after surgery (few months, of course) to help the implants settle in their position. I haven't decided whether to do it or not. It's really cheap here, though ($2500 for everything).

depends too on size...

I would also think it would depend on the size of the implants.... I went from zero-no-chest to a "please god just give me a B"

I had my B's inserted thru the aerola and have since breast fed... but its been a few years now and entered 4 competitions last year. I built up slowly ... but I feel no pain at all now and have striated the heck out of my pecs.

just take it slow ... and build up

thanks for the responses, i added some bench work, which i never do, cables, as well as the dumbells i always do and the pec dec. some soreness today, but not too much.

I'm VERY surprised NO ONE has mentioned the NEW cutting edge surgery for implants(pardon the pun)

Has ANYONE had Endoscopic Plastic Surgery for breast implants?

I'm telling you..It's the way to go if you can afford this newest phase of implants.

Advantages of endoscopic surgery include smaller incisions and QUICKER recovery time. 2 VERY small incisions in the underarm area and in navel. Endoscopy may also assist in the correction of the scar tissue that sometimes forms around the implant too cause it to feel firm.

Expandable implants by Spectrum are another new rave. They come with a remote port that is laterally placed OVER the rib cage. The surgeon can fill the implant over weeks to months so the patient can decide exactly what size she wants.

Does this mean that your natural boobs shrink a lot when you reduce bf%? That female BBers need implants for competing? Or do you just need infeasibly large boobs to compete? I ask as right now I have infeasibly large boobs naturally, but they do shrink when I lose weight.

Well I have always had kind of small boobs so now that I'm pretty low in bodyfat% it's not that big difference.
But I guess everyone's different, but you will most likely lose some of your breast size if you lose a lot of bodyfat.

I have thought about implants, but not to serious though. But if I ever will compete seriously I think I would do it. I guess I'm lucky because my boyfriend just adores my boobs and don't want them to change. They fit my body better now since I lost some fat and I also use the one and only push-up/wonder-bra !

this is very interesting to me....can you reference a website for more info? the expandable is especially interesting since lots of women wish later they'd gone bigger. i've thought it a couple times myself. seems it would also give your body less of a shock and be less painfull for really small women who want to go bigger

I also researched these while evaluating my options. I think the first vixenbabe is referring to is also known as TUBA. I've also looked at the Spectrums - first you need to find a doc who will do those. Not that they are really hard to find, but it seems docs tend to have their "favorite" or "preferred" methods. For piles and piles of excellent info, on these and other traditional implant methods, check www.implantinfo.com and www.implantforum.com. They both have extensive discussion boards where others have probably asked the same questions as any interested person would have, and also implantinfo.com has a live chat so you can talk to people who have or will be having the surgery.

Research, research, research. Talk, talk, talk. And then go see a couple different docs - most give free consults -- and find one who you are comfortable with and who listens to what you want and what your concerns are -- even if they are the same concerns and issues that every other girl who comes into their office has. If they dont' take the time to talk to you in a way that satisfies you, skip 'em and move to the next.

Very true Sassy... IT'S SOOOOO CRITICAL TO FIND THE RIGHT DOCTOR! ****BOARD CERTIFIED PLASTIC SURGEON ONLY!*******

I did not check Sassy's web sites, as I am sure they explain in detail what anyone would need for info.

I can however, give a DAMN good reference for the ladies who live on the east coast if ANYONE is interested, PM ME.

Tex....I'll keep it simple. Rather than a typical implants, they run EVERYTHING UP thru your navel. The only other "cut" is a VERY small insc. in the underarm area where they then FILL you up to the degree you wish. Now...WARNING...YOU are MORE prone to infections since you may opt to go bigger and they need to re-open the valve under your arm to PUMP YA UP! All in all, this is a fantastic revolution for implants*** WITH THE RIGHT DOCTOR!****

if anyone is interested, my surgeon did wonders :) he specializes in implants of all types for bodybuilders, <hes a bodybuilder himself>. i had absolutely no probs going back to a normal chest workout within 4 months of surgery. i went under the muscle, thru the nipple. i also went fairly large too ... 36a to a 36ddd ..lol. if anyones interested, id be glad to share his info :)

Spatts--

to answer your question about my stats:

5'6, 158lbs, not sure of body fat, scared to have it checked...

biceps 13 cold
waist 30
calves 15
quad 23

my goal right now is to trim off some of the fat i have remaining in my rear hips and thighs. my top half is trimmed down nicely and i'm pretty happy with my size.

i know now the rest is mostly diet. gonna hit cardio pretty hard for awhile and see what happens.

you have been my inspiration
