About how much can you deadlift?

My best was 550lbs with straps from the floor and 630 x 10 (ish) in the rack off my knees with a snatch grip (obviously straps!) Was about 225 and 6'0".

Today I did an easy 405 x 2 and then failed 1 x 425 because my grip failed just before lockout. I'll smash that bitch next week by doing DL before chins!

No straps. I don't feel it's safe. If I lost my balance, I can just drop the bar, with straps, I have to set it down. I didn't like the feeling of being strapped to it.

Dammit. I may have been too tired from having 30 min. of other lifts before back but I was barely able to put up 1x365 the other day. It was my 4th set of deads. Hopefully if I start out with deads next time I do a 1RM I can hit my 405 again. I won't put that stress on again for another month though.

This brings me to another point. Is it bad to try 1RM on the same exercise 4-7 days apart? Does this put too much stress on the body week after week?

I've put up squat 1RM PRs two weeks running farily recently and back in the day I used to try for a new bench 1RM pretty much every time I did bench. I don't believe it does any harm per se but you always have to be alert for joint problems when working with low reps for high intensity.

I've pulled a completely raw 730 after box squats and had 750 above my knees...raw.
