Abortion-do women have the right to kill?

velvett said:
Fair enough.

Have you ever had uprotected sex?
Only when I was trying to get pregnant. I was with the same guy for 13 years...we had our kids, he got a vasectomy because we didnt want kids anymore...so we got "responsible" and took care of it....then i got with the guy I was with, and we didnt use protection when we were trying to get pregnant, if i have sex with a guy again, I will use protection of some sort.

I have great protection from having children. I'll give you a clue.

What do a Christmas tree and a man who's had a vasectomy have in common?

That's rather respectable.

Unforunately your actions are not the norm but I can see and understand your point of view.

Somehow I can see aborting a fetus or wanting to conceive a child to both be a selfish act in that sense. Being that in both cases if you want to give the unborn child rights as a human he or she never asked to be born and never asked to be aborted.

What an interesting way to look at it.

Simply because the debate exists for years, does not mean that no one is right. Last time I checked man believed that the world was flat for centuries, in contradiction to reality and what some reasoned men argued. Was no one correct because the debate lasted for years??? Did the world suddenly become round after people accepted this premise??

.

Eh, but the world IS round. It's a solid fact that can be proven

Find any way that you can PROVE to me abortion is factually wrong. I dare you.

I must say that this truly is an interesting point of view....

The desire to have a child is extremely selfish. All parents proclaim this notion of unconditional love for a child, ironically though it is the child that will profess to love the parent whether they be beaten, starved, molested or simply treated worse than the family dog by those that are supposed to have loved them more than life itself.

I see your point too Velvett, nice one too. I strongly believe that there is some nice families out there who would love have a baby and cant, and these women that have 2 or 3 or more abortions...that is totally unacceptable....its like they are using it as birth control....
I think that all children should have a chance. I also know that some children are born in poverty, abuse and neglect, those children should be taken from their parents also....that is irresponsible too if a person doesnt take care of a child.....if they dont want it, give it up for adoption
If I was raped, I would not abort it, and I cant honestly say what I would do other than that. I would know that child was at least a part of me....maybe I would give it up for adoption and maybe I wouldnt.
I think someday, those who got an abortion, will regret it...either when the childs so called birthday comes around, or if something happens like cancer or something like that and they are unable to conceive....they will think...if only i hadnt killed my baby...

You are making far too many assumptions and it isn't for you to decide whether or not a woman *might* regret aborting a fetus.

Should every child have a chance?

YES.

Should children that are abused, neglected, and harmed be taken away from their "parents" and be cared for and loved?

YES.

Does that mean it will happen?

HELL NO. Unless you have had personal experience with just how pathetically miserable this system is, please don't even bring that issue here.

Just because you personally behaved responsibly throughout your lifetime does not mean that there were not countless others who have not. Unless you are about to open your home to love and care for the children of those who have not, I am sorry, but your arguement doesn't make sense.

If this were a perfect world your arguement would not even be needed.

THIS IS NOT A PERFECT WORLD.... and no amount of wishing it would be will not make it so.

It doesn't take much to prove this concept: If I walk up to you and blow your brains out; is that morally wrong??? No scientific instrument, nor mathematical measurement gives any facts to why this is wrong; this concept is deductive in nature, not inductive.

Take a second.
