After dealing with a destoyed back for many years, trust me and train your abs.....hard. Abs can easily be the weak link between your current state and your absolute potential.
 
my abs have definitely been holding my squat progress back... that is why i am hitting 'em now like i should've been...
 
The most important thing is that the hip flexors and abs need to be trained together. This involves straight legged movements.


Pulldown abs
Straight legged situps
Spread eagle sit ups
Leg raises
 
Remember...if you are concerned with strength on an exercise...and pushing the numbers up...you need to learn from those who are interested in the same...and have been successful.
