AAS users that are Personal Trainers

Bro, seriously this is as retarded as going to bartender school to become a bartender. If you can't get your foot in the door as a bar back to learn the ropes-you suck.

Or have you ever seen the ad "Karate instructors wanted...No experience necessary"??? Would you pay a guy for lessons that went through this program to get his black belt??? lol People pay certified personal trainers that are often at lower levels of fitness than the clients themselves. What's up w/ that??

Grab a clipboard, a pen, and have biz cards printed up with your name and #. Voila-you are a trainer with the certification of your choosing!!! No need to go through the fancy shmancy certification bullshit-just claim to have one. IMNSHO even buying into the whole certification thing shows that you are just as naive as the people paying you to train them.

Are you a trainer? Did you get any certifications or degrees? I didn't say get certified and your all set. I just posted what I did to just get started working as a certified trainer. I didn't mention that I went to UMASS Boston to get my degree as nutritionist. I didn't mention that I worked out for almost 11 fucking years before I even began as a certified treainer. I didn't mention that all someone has to do is get some dome-ass certification, and they'll be making the big bucks as a trainer. That would have been nieve. Get all your fucking facts before you talk shit about someone you fucking retard!

Jesus Christ. I wasn't trying to insult you or talking shit. Ask anyone here-I was not fucking with you. If I was you and everyone else here would surely know it.

Maybe if you included that pertinent info I wouldn't have assumed that you may be uninformed-as many people are about the pt industry. I laugh my ass opff when guys say they're going to college to become a trainer. I was training people at age 19 and making decent cash doing it too. I had no formal education and I was making the same a guy 5 yrs older than me was doing the same thing. The difference? He had the letters BS after his name-which according to him made him Joe Weider-as he downs a 44 oz big gulp of Dr Pepper and eats 3 king size kit kats. As far as training himself went, I think he walked a lap around the gym once or twice a week. Then he'd bitch up a storm about me stealing his clients. lol

And now here comes the part where I'm being a dick, since you can't seem to tell the difference:

Yes I'm a trainer-and unlike you I look like one to the point where nobody would question my credentials or knowledge base just based on my appearance alone. If you had that kind of game there would be no need to brag about your book educated pseudo science bullshit. A killer body will smoke any killer resume' you show potential clients. Speaking of...

Wanna compare pics? Then we can ask the whole fucking internet who looks more qualified? Anytime bitch. Mr Pumped will be looking like Mr Chumped I assure you

And btw- tell your old lady if she doesn't bring me my money soon I'll ship her ass back to TJ and she can start doing the donkey shows for $20 again.

Issa wasn't the greatest but it got me certified and able to work as a personal trainer in a gym and to start my own buisness. I don't work in that field any more( am a substance abuse counselor now). Using one of those will get your feet in the door, but if you want to look better on resume, certain Colleges offer programs for certification as well. Look in your local area for Colleges that offer the program. Hope the best for you.

ya bro, im working on getting a dietetics major right now. I have about 2 years left for that , and I thought if I already had a PT certification that it would give my resume more appeal.

LOL cracker you prick! J/K and Pumped I don't think anyone took that as a personal slam dude

They're all worthless. Your success will largely be based on your personality and how capable you are of convincing potential clients that you will be able to help them achieve their fitness goals. The only people impressed by certifications are

I am not a trainer, but he is correct.

Need the certificates to get the first job, what a joke.

The only people impressed by certifications are the people that don't realize many of them can be obtained by anyone with a 6th grade reading level after two 8 hr seminars or less. I've seen guys with Masters Degrees in exercise physiology that can't even perform a bench press properly. However, being able to put a few letters after your name as a disclaimer that you know wtf you are doing can't hurt. Why not just claim to have an ACE or ??? Nobodys gonna check up on you-and if they do fuck em-they'd be a pain in the ass client fersure.

The best certification I know of is the BC certification aka Big Cracker Certification. For $20 I'll make you a certificate on photoshop stating you are BC certified. You can claim it is the best certification that a pt can acquire. Why? Because BC says so!!! Other certifications are based on the same shit-Who says ACE is the best??? ACE does!!! ETC. They just try to make themselves seem like they're providing you with a degree from MIT or something so you'll piss away your cash on something you don't need.
This response is right on the money. The most successful personal trainers are the ones that are organized, dependable, are a product of the product (meaning they are in shape), know how to get results quickly for their clients and most important by far are great salespeople. Go to 24 Hour Fitness or Bally's and all of those trainers have certifications and 99% of them are worthless pieces of shit that have no clue what they are doing. I think in any sales arena you either have it or you don't. I know many trainers that work in personal training studios that make over 100k but those are probably the same people that would make 100k+ if they were selling cars, insurance, mortgages, etc. The fact is, if you know how to build your own body you know how to build somebody elses
