AAS in baseball

I wanted to see if they were any die hard baseball finds here that feel if the game is being shitted on by players juicing. I do not believe that using anything to better yourself or look is wrong, but when you take it to the professional sports and start breaking records like babe ruth, hank arron, mark mcguire and other greats that did it from the past clean, I do see something wrong with that. I am glad that basketball, football and boxing test for all drugs and I really wish that baseball would too. Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa are great people I’m sure but you can look at them and tell there is something not natural about there bodies. What do ya'll think about aas and professional sports?

There really isnt as much of a line as you're thinking.

This is simply an issue of advancement.

In 100 years people may be crying foul because genetically enhanced Bobby Dillweed is breaking Barry Bond's record ...

mark macguire VERY LIKELY used AAS. one need only look at his earlier pics to come to this conclusion. the forearms are a dead give away.

btw- the andro "thing" was an obvious attempt to explain away the massive changes in his physique.

note- IMHO enhanced atheletes are more entertaining to watch.. though thats JMHO

a questions to those that are true "purists".. what about players that have a serious genetic advantage, should they be banned from the game? enforced physical mediocrity to level the playing field? just a question

or put another way.. is it unfair for you, who are geneticially challenged to level the playing field with drugs to play more evenly against someone who has very good genetics?

or put even more succinctly should you be second, or excluded, because someone else's parents combination of genetic material was better suited to the task at hand?

Let me say something about Barry Bonds. That MF has been hitting homeruns his whole entire career. How do you think he got to #4 on the all time list? He just didn't come out the woodwork like Mark McGuire or Sosa. Sosa used to be a skinny bitch who couldn't hit for shit. All of a sudden he can hit 50, 60 HR's a year? Get the fuck out of here.

But then baseball started to test for AAS this year cause of the heat that fuck Conseco caused. He goes off. All of a sudden he's no longer Super Sammy he feels like shit cause he doesn't have the strength he used to and he isn't getting all those HR's like he was when he was on. How many guys on here do we know that have went through the same thing? So what does he do? He corks his bat to try to start hitting HR's again. "I was using it for BP" my ass. But then he fucks up and gets caught, the dumb fucker. So what does he do? He picks up the juice again. Now all of a sudden he's hitting homeruns again.

Meanwhile, Bonds has still been hitting them all season. When Bonds was asked about that MF Conseco's comment about AAS usage in the MLB an testing for them, Bonds replied "I'll take a test right now, I have nothing to hide" When Sosa was asked the same question, he refused to take the test to prove he wasn't on anything. There is no doubt there are guys on steroids in every sport. But not everyone one of them is on. For some jealous asshole like Conseco to blanket the whole sport and put that cloud over those guys is fucked up. If they're using he doesn't need to blow up the spot like that. He should be loyal to these guys and not try rip them down, cause ultimately everyone gets hurt.

Steroid use in pro sports is bigger than most people know or are willing to acknowledge. Olympics, tour d France, soccer, hockey, rugby, all of them ...and yes especially baseball. Testing wont stop the use of AAS. It is part of our society and part of BIG time sports around the world. Even some of the older stars did juice, but probably not as many as today's athletes. There is BIG money in sports and many athletes juice. I don't think it has hurt the games themselves. Athletes are bigger, stronger, and faster, and eat better than say 40 years ago. I dont think they "are shitting" on the game. They are doing what it takes to compete at the pro level to get a slice of the pie. Hank AAron, Babe, Mickey Mantel, Dimaggio, will always be a part of baseball no matter what Bonds, Sosa, and Ripkin accomplish with or without Juice. my2cc

I totally agree with this... those of you who think sports even "used" to be completely pure are only fooling yourselves. Drug use in sports has been around since ancient times.... Hell runners back in ancient times used to use stimulants to run until they died... Whether it was juice or something else, something was used at practically all times in history... (see the link below for a BRIEF summation)

Don't take this as I am digging on sports history or anything like that, just all kinds of things happened in the past as well as now that you will not know about, and the only person who will know (whether they say so or not) is the athlete themselves

i got news for ya bro - 75% of heavyweight pro boxers have or are currently juicing.
its no secret - tysons been on juice since he was 15.
they dont bother testing (sometimes they do for regulation reasons) boxing is such a corupt buisness, if they started getting strict on chemical enhancement the only guys left in boxing would be george foreman and butterbean.

I don't think Bonds, Sosa or McQwire juiced... Here is why. McGwire hit 48 homers as a rookie and he was a beanpole. He lifted weights and built his body up... but nothing that anyone couldn't achieve naturally.

Bonds was always a good hitter, but what he has learned to do in the past 6 years is lay off balls out of the strikezone. No amount of steroids will develop the eye for the strikezone that he has. His patience at the plate is unmatched.

Sosa... maybe he did juice... but I doubt it. He was pretty lanky when he started and he hacked at a lot of horrible pitches when he was younger. It just looks like he just filled out to me and gained some patience.

Also, satch is right. Almost every pitcher now a days throws in the low to mid 90's as a rule. Back in the 40's, 50's 60', 70's there were only a few of those guys... this also makes the ball fly further. Also... more teams with more guys throwing fast cheese. Most MLB players will eat up a fastball quicker than shit. Many of these guys in the big leagues would have been in double or triple AAA in the past.

Another thing that never gets mentioned is that players have switched to Maple bats, rather than Ash (Bonds most notably). Maple is a little stronger, stiffer, and harder than Ash. Combine this with proper training and it is easy to see how some of these records are falling.

I agree, the juice does not give you better hand eye cordination, just power. Remember Lenny Dyksrta? Came back from one off season all Jacked up. From a punch and Judy hitter with the Mets to a small monster with the Phillies

I did not even waste my time reading this entire thread - but "outlawaf" you must be the most niave person in the entire world. Holy shit, people never seem to amaze me.

Re: tdf drugs

Is that all for 1 cycle?:p :p:p :p

so I guess most pro athletes Juice in the off season, then they come off just before the season starts because they know they could get tested then.. They don't keep Juicing during regular season do they? that would seem to risky..
