The Mouse-Over
by Lumberg
Sometimes you might see a link that promises something great like Paris Hilton having sex with our own spatts, or something equally enticing and almost unbelievable....but there is just a slight possibility it might be true...and you just want to know.....
Well in comes the technique I would like everybody to practice. It's called "mousing over" or "mouse overing."
Basically what you do is you make the point of your mouse cursor hover over the link. Sometimes when you do this the link changes color which means you're on the right thing. Now keep the mouse just there and look around. Usually to the lower left, you will see the address of the link, the place to which your browser will be pointed if you click on that link.
"My God, you might say, that link actually lead to the address of http://www.blowmyballs.com/goatse.jpg!" God forbid if I were to see that image ever again.
And you can continue on your merry way, KNOWING what the link is to, but not having to actually FOLLOW the link to know it.
It's kind of like viewfinding for cameras. Use it. And be healthy.
