a question for the sushi eating people

ive eaten sushi quite a few times but i never sit at the sushi bar, so no tip

well it is customary to tip the chef when they cook it right in front of you but yea they do get paid also.

i tried sushi for the first time the other day. i dont see what all the hype is about.

A few years back I tryed it and wondered that same thing. Then I got the chance to try it again and I liked it a lot. I think it all depends who makes it to be honest.

i never sit at the bar- i get it to go. i think i would know to tip the chef if i sat there, cause other than the girl that brings you tea, he's the server.

don't bother tipping for take out.. they give you the crap scraps to go.

its an aquired taste. Most people who try it the first time don't know what the fuss is about, but the second time, they actually enjoy it, and after the third time, you start craving it.

its probably like drinking coffee.

when i eat there, i sit at a table, not the bar, and then i just tip my waitress.

the few times i've gone I sat at the bar. I really enjoy interacting with the chef, asking questions etc.

But yea, if you are at the table, i'd see no reason to tip the chef directly, beings the waitress is taking your order not him.

I'd laugh at the "hood" comment, but it is kinda "in da hood" (the place i told you about, not where i live you focker).
