Boy o boy did I get stumped today..........made me look like a babbeling baffoon...this lady at the gym walks up to me and says "J - I have a problem. I think my son is/was on the sauce. Matter of fact he told me he ws. Now that he is off, he is so depressed that he never leaves the house. He told me steroids make you capable of lifting more weight. Is that true?" Well, I spoke with her in an intellectual matter about the increase in testerone production, the shutdown of natty test production, the appetite increase, etc. But, I just wanted to give her some scientific facts on what steroids REALLY do to the body. Is there any info posted, links, etc. that may help me out? Much appreciated!

Bro, he is shut down. Plain and simple. His nutz are probably raisins, and his body is more than likely producing less testosterone than an 12-year-old school girl. Im sure that its a classic story of a dood doing a cycle with his buddies, with no research, has no clue about what his Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Testicular Axis is, and has no idea about PCT. By the sounds of things, they guy is probably crashing hard. Obviously the guy didnt do his home work, if they guy told his mommy that he uses, and she is trying to do the research for him. lol.

Here is a blurb to tell her...

The Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Testicular Axis, or HPTA for short, is the thermostat for your body’s natural production of testosterone. Too much testosterone and the furnace will shut off. Not enough, and the heat is turned up, to put it very simply. You can look at this regulating process as having three levels. At the top is the hypothalamic region of the brain, which releases the hormone GnRH (Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone) when it senses a need for more testosterone. GnRH sends a signal to the second level of the axis, the pituitary, which releases Luteinizing Hormone in response. LH for short, this hormone stimulates the testes (level three) to secrete testosterone. The same sex steroids (testosterone, estrogen) that are produced serve to counter-balance things, by providing negative feedback signals (primarily to the hypothalamus and pituitary) to lower the secretion of testosterone when too much of this hormone is sensed. Synthetic steroids, of course, suppress testosterone the exact same way. "

He needs to hop on some PCT asap. This is vital to minimise post cycle muscle losses, depression, basically the "crash". If you really want to help him/her out, you are going to have to tell him that he is going to need some other drugs to get him back on track. He could always go to a doc, and tell him what happened, or even you could visit him, and talk to him about his cycle (be a good samaritan - lol), ask him what he took, and for how long, and when he came off. Then you could give him a little steroids 101, and more importantly PCT 101, maybe point him in the direction of this site as a resource. Educating the guy seems like a better idea to me, instead of his mom. It will keep one more misfit out there from screwing himself up, and 1 more person from giving aas the "terrible" name it has.
