A bodybuilder's blood pressure - discuss this statement

statdoc said:
The problem with high blood pressure is arterial damage. So it doesn't matter if it's from a "great heart" or if it's from some other pathology. High blood pressure, no matter what the cause, damages your arteries, kidneys, etc. It must be controlled to help prevent long-term complications.

The main issue with bodybuilders having high blood pressure is that a proper sized cuff must be used. Somebody with huge arms would actually need their blood pressure taken with a thigh cuff, not just a large adult brachial cuff.
Thats what my doc uses. I am always around 130/76 or so. So I am always good.

Hmmm, maby thats why mine always reads a little bit high since I've only tested mine with a cuff thats meant for 9-13" arms and mine are 17"... hmmm.

I have been lifting since 11 years. Initially it was about 140/90 with resting heart rate of about 96bpm. I have been natural and now my BP is about 110/70 & resting heart rate between 69 - 72bpm. AFAIK during an anabolic cycle, the BP is elevated due to the water retention.
