I'm not familiar with the niacin. I'd like to know when to take it as well. Why Niacin?

Your contest day diet sounds awesome. Mine is, as I mentioned.
1st meal chicken w/ brown rice.
2- chicken w/brown rice.
3-Rice cake/ PB.
4- Rice cake w/ PB.
5-Chicken w/sweet potato and a salad.
6-Chicken w/ Brown rice.
7-Chicken w/ sweet potato.
8-Rice cake w/PB.
9-Rice cake w/ PB.
I'll be having this, basically every two hours.
In addition, I'll bring a slice of pizza, a muffin, gatorate and extra of the above food in case I need it.
And I'll be drinking 1.5g of water, which I never make... :drink2:

I'll be thinking of you and please, post some pictures from comp..

Thanks girl! I tried Niacin for my experiment...my body really responded well and my vascularity was killer, so I will repeat for the comp. I am just not sure when and do I need to repeat???? Probably repeat for the night show is my guess...but I will find out.

Oh Duhhhhhhh, you are figure...simple sugar might make you as hard as a rock with your metabolism. Why do I think everyone is a BB.....sorry. That little guy drinking water is cruel!!!!!
 
sorry i didnt catch the niacin question in there.

niacin is also known as nicotinic acid and vitamin B3. it is popular to use precontest for a little extra vascularity. there are two types of niacin u can get, regular and flush-free. the regular seems to work best for vascularity but the flush free works ok. i take about 500mg and it is very fast acting but short lived. the best way to test your reaction and dosage level is before a long posing session. u may expereince some hotness, itchiness, redness to the skin with the regular stuff. with flush-free....not so much.

500mg would be the max dose you should be taking and do not take it long term. take it about 20 minutes prior to pre-judgig, if u like the effects.

basically the niacin flushes the skin and may increase vascularity.

Well, if I'm getting flat, I might have some gatorate or 1/2 or a whole muffin. This happened to me on the last show. I was getting flat, but by the time I had the muffin was too late. I've learned that is best to have a couple of people with you helping in case you overlook something, which was the case.

I so agree...Stacy will be with me for pre-judge, my daughter will watch everything she does and try to support for the evening show. She is a quick study and brutally honest...just what ya need an honest kid right!

We have trained a couple of times, but I've been on my own for awhile. Mostly just to teach me movements to fix things that need work. I hope she does well in the AC show and then the Olympia!

She does my diet and posing routine for me.
 
Wowza dam girl you look freaking awesome I haven't made it through the whole log yet but I wiil. :D I am wondering are your legs more dominate generally? Is that why your working hams 3 days a week? I think you have great balance shape and hardness. I am generally bottom heavy my legs still need to come down a fair amount and I would love some of the detail you got going on in your legs.

My gentetics favor my legs for sure, I'm doing hams 3X week because I flattened them by spinning...I'm such a knucklehead. As long as I don't spin, my excessive ham work is probably concluded. I posted my leg routine...I start with rep work 4 weeks out to carve them up!

BTW my legs come in last, upper body and torso first, but when they come in they come strong!!!! Anything you need if I can help!

Awesome my legs come in last as well I have brought up my up body but still need to work my ass of to get my legs cut. Do you stay lean year round? If so how close to contest weight? I am going to read through this whole thread I saw your split thinking about giving it a go after I heal up from getting my boobies done.

I had to take almost 4 yrs off. First I injured my distal, then broke my hand. When I was whole I took about 14 months to put some size back on. I had lost a considerable amount of muscle, I'm a hard gainer to begin with. I stay about 4-5 pts of BF away from comp when I am healthy. I really try to stay away from the scale because I get really stressed when I lose weight. I know I'm a head case, but when you work so hard to put muscle on even when you are losing BF it's hard for my head to see it that way. I use the mirror...when I look the way I like then I feel I am ready...this usually equates to a loss of 4 to 5 points of BF.

My peak bulk weight this time was about 146 lb. I competed in April at 123. I usually don't have that much weight to drop but putting on size is another program altogether. Losing weight is way to easy for me. Keeping myself at a weight that looks full and lean is very hard for me, I tend to fizzle up at the end...can't stop dropping weight even when I start to cut into the muscle. So we all have our deamons, that is mine.....Go figure LOL

I read through the whole thread can't find your how tall you are? I am the opposite I put on weight both good (muscle) and bad (fat) very easy. I can drop pretty fast if all things are in check 100% but I am still working out the kinks on filling out properly and bringing my legs in shreaded. I like all your trail runs that is an awesome idea. Do you work with a trainer or do this all on your own?

My friend Stacy Simons (IFBB Fitness Pro) runs through a couple of work outs when I need to work on something -- like my ham strings. I am on my own for the most part...been doing this for a long time.

Hey do you use niacin, I tried 250 mg and it worked great...no itching or flushness. GUARDIAN says you can go 500 mg...I am going to try this Wed, right before I pose. If you have used it how much did you use and how long before you hit the stage.

I love it that you have taken a break, had injuries and you are back at it again.

It really is inspiring and it does have me get into that head space that anything is possible.

This is my 2nd day of decarb...and I am draggin a**! I really needed a nice plug and you really made my night so thanks for that! Yup I'm goin this Sat, and my mirror is sreamin...Lord you in trouble girl! All I see is the freakin water I'm drinkin....by Friday I'll be beggin for more LOL

Unlike you, today was my high carb day, but from here I'll be decarbing till friday, then back up. My bitchiness will be on Wednesday.. :evil:

No bloating, each morning I am getting tighter...but I feel so flat, and the huge intake of water early makes me look soft later in th day, in the AM I have veins running down my rib cage...but 1.5 gals of water into it my skin is so tight and my stomach is "sloshing" bwwaahahahahah.

I am feeling better today, I have had starchy carbs with meals 1 and 2...tomorrow meals 1 only....then thursday back into meals 1,2,3 then Friday mls 1,2,3,4....and a BIG HONKIN STEAK yyyyeeessssssssssss

You're feeling flat b/c of your carbs depletion. You'll look great once you carb up again. I was feeling that way on my last comp and hated it. Hopefully it will be ok this time around. Hang in there! 1.5g water is not easy. I'm still on 1g when I should be doing 1.5g.

I'm home it's 10:30....I'm stuffed LOL. I took 2nd in the LW....I'm pleased. The winner had a mans upper body and was shredded!!!! She looked great. Her upper body was bigger than her lower body but she was freaky big on the upper half for a LW.

Will post pics from the show when they come in....tired, full but happy! Hope my girl Thandie rocked. The show was much smaller than the MET but much HARDER competition. It was soooooooo good!

Thanks Girl....I just felt she was all upper body. She had great legs for Figure...but no sweep. She never posed to the front always to the side...she was very smart, always posed to her strength, I give her props for that!!!

Hope to do better on the 12th...probably get my butt kicked LOL..I am tired.

Sorry I can't be there for you in NJ. My daughter is coming to NY from the 10th to the 15th.
My next show is Naturalmania in September and probably Worlds in November. I need to get a bit of size. I hope these two months will do that for me..

I won the Masters, the LWs and was defeated by the MW for the Overall. It was a good loss, she was tough, and we were neck and neck. For her being the "home gym" competitor I had way more crowd appeal. So for turning 49 yesterday, I gave that youngster a run for her money and that is OK by me. I will see her again I'm sure...and perhaps in a more nuetral arena...heh heh

Will post the pics from Philly and this one when I get them. For now here is a good one my husband took after Pre Judge....it was hot and I needed a rest GURL!
