Sorry man, I haven't been able to follow for a while, but what happened to the S4 that you were taking?

i have some left lifftalot, i might finish it off in a couple weeks but I want to get back to the gym for at least a week or 2 so I can get the msot out of it, thats why I am not running any supps now. after any time off I like to get back into the swing of things myself before supping. I"m hoping to get my hands on some mast within the next 3 weeks as well, will start a new log for that one.

May 23 & 24th
Last night I had MMA, great class, we had a good conditioning warm up and I powered through it all. I find since starting this log that I am more calm and relaxed and have learned to breath better, not 100% proper yet but better then I was.
before I went to bed I weighed myself, 180.2 which is good considering the previous week I had

Today I woke up, and did my fasted cardio, 300cals gone. Having a good breakfast and relaxing for a bit and more mma tonight. Might try to get back to the gym this afternoon to lift some weights, but I'm thinkin i'll prob wait til tomorrow so I don't over do it.

May 25th
Today I went to the gym, did some Standing OHP. Shrugs, deadlifts, BOR, dips and some curls and tri pull downs
did 15 mins of cardio, 11 incline at 3.5 for about 220cals after training

CObra, it's a difficult balance man, especially since i work shift work. I never have a specific day I lift weights, but I try to do it twice a week using Wendler 5/3/1 into a 2 day split. something like Shoulder Press/Deads then few days later Bench/Squats. Plus I'll do some assistance exercises in there, depends how creative I feel and i'll throw some abs in. Trick is to make sure you can get rest and if your doing MMA, avoid squats haha cause often MMA involves take downs, if you have fatigue legs your fuckt. its a juggling act man, I kind of went off into a ramble there but I hope ya can make sense. If ya tell me the days you train mma and your work schedule I might be able to rig up a rough schedule for ya cause I've been fuckin wit this for a while now.

well im figuring it out, and yeah i do shift work also but 7 days on 7 off. but theres a gym at work so that makes it easy, i do 5x5 every other day up there. every wednesday is a travel day so i rest. plus today someone fucked up my ride godamnitineofndslnfkdnfladnf. to avoid a sideswipe i put my car into the curb, fucked up my rims/alighnment/struts/tierods?? and 2 days before my trip for my 4th anniversary lol. but yeah im workin shit out schedule wise but i wanna bulk right now and go for strength so im slackin on my mma, but its a give/take kinda thing. was just trying to to figure out how to maximise my schedule.. a 2 day full body split might be a good option tho..

if you work 7 days on, 7 days off and there is a gym where you work, do like a 3 day split(squat all 3, do like texas method) the week you work, and the week you don't cut it back to a recovery 2 day split with emphasizes on mma. if your trying to get big and strong FOR mma you might as well do MMA during the transformation so you are use to the difference.

thats exactly what i do when im at work. my current goal is to bulk and gain strength to cut later on. im eating clean but definition isnt a priority at the moment. eventually my whole training regime will change when strength goals are reached. i like that 2 day split tho. gonna look at my schedule and try a few things out. my mistake was trying to keep weights going every other day, with the idea of maximizing my strength training.

yeah man, body can't handle it..when I started trying to do MMA specific weight training, I started with the texas method and was still doing my mma classes, it was fuckin hard man I had to change it up. Squatting 3 days a week, I had nothing after like 2 take downs, legs were like jelly. They are better now, some weeks i'll squat, other weeks i'll lunge or do step ups. You will get your own rhythem. I got a friend who wanted to get strength but couldn't lift 3-4 times a week so I prescribed beast, 2 caps ed, 5 days on, 2 days off, for 4 weeks. He' doing amazing

dude i was all set to run beast in a couple months, but i think im gonna rock that methadrol extreme, see where that gets me  my strength isnt where it should be. ive always trained for endurance and maintenance so i could stay small, used to do tournaments before my injury at 170 lbs. rock climbing comps, was a sponsored snowboarder and downhill biker, now its gonna be all stregth :) then cut. but yeah ill prob switch it up and again and again till i find something with a 2 day split that really grooves with me.

good tip with the alternating lunges and step ups. gonna work those into my routine more, too.

Thanks Z!

Sorry I didn't write in a couple days, had to go on an unexpected trip. I got to the gym on my travels though, doing some morning cardio and a killer ab workout that involved about 300 reps. 2 days later and my stomach is still sore. I'm steady at about 177-180lbs.

I took befores but they are on my old PC that's absolutely fucked I'm attempting to recover some of the hard drive and if so i will post them up :)

Well guys I would like to thank all of your for following me log, it def gave me motivation. I'm sorry I don't have before and after pics. There is a good difference I don't look like any of the contest winners mind you but I have the makings of an 6-8 pack on the way, I"m struggling with the bottom 2 abs. Turning vegetarian made my diet a little fucked but I'm going to keep at it. Been vegetarian for 2 months now, since around mid april. I will be starting another log hopefully Monday where I plan on runniing some Beast and maybe a few other goodies to boot. So keep an eye open
Thanks again!

Good stuff... what made you 'turn' vegetarian?

My change to vegetarian?

Well to begin I ALWAYS have heart burn, which isn't natural, that and acid reflux sucks when it comes up, esp if your out with friends or something because ya just can't have fun.

So..my friend who is vegetarian told me he used to have heart burn and it stopped when he turned vegetarian, I was skeptical

Then, a few of my friends I train MMA with went vegetarian and their cardio seemed to increase and they became leaner, keeping the same strength, it seemed as if they were so much more relentless then they used to be.

So I gave it a shot 2 months ago, and the difference I feel, I don't think I"ll ever eat meat again. I haven't had heart burn since, and I've ate 2 big slices of a vegetarian pizza and went to bed(this would ALWAYS cause it) but nothing. Also, I notice my body lasting longer in training. I can keep going and going, I feel a lot better, I never feel bloated and I have energy for days. I work a pretty stressful job and I don't find it fatigues me now like it used to. This could all be a placebo effect, I have no medical evidence to back up my good feelings, but I do feel better.

Diet is still tricky, but I love to cook and lots of vegetarian meals are delicious, I still supplment with a protein shake or 2 a day. But thats it

Yeah I would never switch to veggie diets, I hate most of them but I choke them down. They still argue that humans werent made to eat meat, but I cant imagine eating nothing but plants all day...Look at me im eating leaves, super strong I am! Eh, no thanks, but glad it works for some people!

i can see why you would feel like you last longer in mma. meats take 2-8 hours to digest i believe depending what it is. where as lots of veggies take under an hour to digest. even if u had a steak 4 hours before class its still drainin u a little bit. i personally just couldnt do it. i hate veggies. i eat em, but i dont like it. and i dont get heart burn so i have no physical ailments

If we weren't made to eat meat, we wouldnt be hunting animals for the past 10,000 years.

We;re not lions, and supposidaly humans began hunting meat because veggies were hard to grow or some shit, I honeslty don't know and I could debate a lot longer on why NOT to be vegetarian then why TO BE one so yas don't even have to start lol. And I was ignorant to the situation too, I don't enjoy veggies but it's not liek you think. I thought, if I eat steak, potatoes and a salad, then a vegetarian meal would be just the salad and potatoes. Not the case. there are lots of delicious vegetarian recipes and if any of you guys would like to try soime I would gladly email you the recipes. If not I don't care, I'm not going to and never will force people to be vegetarian or criticize people who eat meat. Freedom of choice.
But as I mentiond, I do feel a physical difference in sparring, I don't feel "sluggish" I guess you could say.

My next log I'm thinking about including what I ate as well as supplements. Prob be starting Monday.

It's not as easy... but with nutritional science today... there is really NO reason why we can't live without meat... it's just easier to eat a hunk of flesh...
