6 Toughest Workouts

Upper body:
Superset dips and chins nonstop until you can't perform one rep of each.

Lower body:
Overhead squat - to near failure, instantly start front-squatting that weight, then when you near fail, start back squatting it...

Wholebody:
The 6000lb challenge, sticky.

100 pullups workout is one of the hardest things ever:

Max out workout. It is OK to fail this workout and push your max every set.
- Max pull-ups
- Max pushups 1:00
- Max sit-ups 1:00 (pace out 50-55 reps)
- Optional run 1/4 mile 90 seconds (I do this some days - not all )
Repeat above until you hit 100 pull-ups. Once you can reach 100 pull-ups in 4-5 sets, then shoot for 150 pull-ups in a total workout.

I'm with you on this.

these are mainly xfit workouts.. not bodybuilding like this site's supose to be. wanna try something hard? do a triathlon. or how about run a mile in about 4:20 then do some pullups..
everything is hard if you train hard at them. come train or race bikes with me. even though you'll be puking with me at the finishline, we'll do some dips afterwords...saw down a tree as fast as you can, chop it up, then stack it 100 yards away.. everything is hard if you go all out.

I would add Zercher Squats @ the end to increase the puke factor

All of this would work great if you have a solid overhead squat.

20 rep squats is by far the hardest thing i've done period - Widow Makers are a killer AND they enduce serious nausia and puking

hey... just curious but is the first guy up in northern NJ? I think he might be in my town- once my YMCA membership runs out i would definitely love another place to workout :)

Yea, I think De Franco is in NJ. He runs a killer gym. You should look him up on YouTube and Google. It is friggin amazing what his trainees do.

wow- there is one right in my town..... and everyone still uses the YMCA wtf!

I still think the toughest thing I have ever done is ruck marching. Just take a backpack, put 100 lbs in it, and start off a a 4mph pace. Harder than any thing you can do in the gym, and I've done double widowmakers (one set of 20, move weight up 10 pounds, rest 1 minute, another set of 20).

In my mind this is one of the toughest, most insane, gut wrenching workouts I have ever seen. The video is of Sarge, one of Jesse Marunde's friends doing nearly 100 squat reps with no belt, knees and out of the rack.

That's pretty insane. I wonder what his max is?

Hardest workout ever= Iron man (2.4 mile swim, then a 112 mile bike ride then a 26.2 mile run)

Ironman is definitely not the hardest workout ever. This was about weight workout btw, but if we are going the endurance route.....

The hardest workout ever would be limitless. Try doing a 5 mile swim, 250 mile bike ride, 100 mile run with 50 lbs on your back. Anyway, those guys doing the ironman couldnt do any of those exercises in the article for shit :chomp:
