5x5 Rows- Good or bad idea

Okay so I've been having problems getting my lower back to straighten out when pulling rows from the floor. So today, I used a rack, and put the bar on the lowest hole, about a foot or so off the ground. I was able to straighten my back a lot more. I just exploded up and let the bar down slowly. I want to do this for a couple weeks, then maybe try the floor again. Is this a good idea or should I be trying soon to go from the floor again, or does it really matter? thanks.

if it seems to be working for you I'd have to say it's a good idea. Lots of lifts are broken down and learned first as partials- the clean and snatch lifts for example. It simplifies things which makes neural retention faster. You could even do some light to moderately heavy stiff leg deadlifts on lower body day to improve your flexability and get some practice pulling from the floor.

if it were me... i would try lessening the weight and lift from the floor...
if that didnt work.... id post on here for help :p

Instead of raising the bar you could try to lower your butt, you could either bend the knees more or spread the legs more apart. On the other hand, if you are parallel whilst using the rack you will be fine i think.
