5X5 round 2

I'll finish my first round of the 5X5 on Friday and have made some great gains. I want to start it again but feel I should back off for a week or so before I do. How have others "taken it easy" before starting another round of the 5X5? Should I do some lifting next week, but scaled way back? Or not lift at all?

Thanks!

I ran dual factor, so my deload was the 3x3. You still get to play with heavy weights, but the workload is far less.

Either way you go, whether you go lift lightly for a week or just goof off being "active", your body will recover nicely and be ready for the next round.

If you ran the 2x per week version to deload then you can dive straight back in at a fresh run. If you went for the 3x per week intensity phase then you probably need to deload from that. Take a week or even two to recover and spend the time working some exercises you've missed maybe in higher rep-ranges. Do some speed work or plyos, maybe.
