47% of households will pay no federal income tax

Capital has been moving steadily outside of the US for some time, and Barry's class warfare rhetoric will accelerate that pace.

No shit. Socialism and Liberalism are GREAT for moving capital, jobs and companies to more busineses-friendly companies. Ever wonder why so many big american companies are legally registered in foreign countries? (carnival is in the islands, haliburton is in dubai, microsoft is spinning off as many development centers/offices as they can overseas, fox is in australia i think).

And when stoopid liberal hippie "rich are losers!" dumbfucks complain their state is bankrupt, there are no jobs, can't afford their house, blah blah blah. All I can say is 'boo fucking hoo'.

Capitalism is the engine of wealth of countries. NOT goernment taxation and policies. People forget what drives countries again.

btw: you are only legally required to pay the LEAST AMOUNT of tax you need to. You trying to find every deduction possible to lower your tax bill .. is no different .. then a company doing the same. This is all legal.

I am so sick of that retort. More than 50% of the population of this country is made up of households making under $50k a year. Frankly, for a family of three or four, that's dirt.

I worked for an actuary. I knew how much he made, for a fact, and he cleared well over half a million a year, yet he managed to get income tax refunds, when I, a single working mother, was paying out at the end of the year.

The richer you are, the less money you tell the government you make and because the tax laws are so convoluted, you can afford the CPAs and lawyers to help you get away with it.

My simple argument: If rich people and big corporations wanted a flat tax they'd have lobbiests out there pounding down congress' doors. Except congressmen don't want a flat tax, either. People who are in the big money brackets don't want a flat tax because suddenly they'd be held to the same standards everyone else is, the rest of us would probably be paying the same amount.

The fact that your actuary got income tax refunds only means that he paid in more during the coarse of a year than he ended up owing on April 14.

I guarantee you that he paid a higher percentage of his income to federal taxes than you did. Making half-a-million dollars a year in income put him in the 35% tax bracket. Deductions will lower that somewhat; and certain investments may allow you to postpone paying some of those taxes. But he's is still paying a good 30% of his income to federal taxes compared to the 47% of Americans paying 0%.

No where in our Constitution does it say that all Americans are entitled to cell phones, fancy cars, and large screen TVs regardless of how little they work or how poor the choices they make in life are.

not big on current events are ya? :FRlol:

They're just shifting the financial opportunity to a new set of countries. We probably should have stuck with the devil we know instead of driving a new set of tax havens. The opportunity for unintended consequences here is great.

I think we're going to see fewer and fewer havens and more outright exodus of capital.

Agreed....Komrade Obama will chase a healthy portion of the country's wealthiest individuals and biggest businesses overseas.

Not to mention the number that will get welfare checks in the form of "rebates"...how can you get a rebate if you don't pay anything?
