40% taken out of my fucking commission check THIS SUCKS!!!!

Matt what is so wrong about having a sales job? Sales is one of the highest (potential)paying jobs out there. Yes, i am in sales, yes i work hard for my clients and i do add value. I do very well in real estate, own several properties myself and love my job. I only have a BA degree yet I make more money than most people slaving away in their boring salaried jobs with limited upside potential. Plus I dont have to answer to anyone but myself. So for those of you thinking about sales i say go ahead be brave and take a shot at it if you work hard you will not be sorry!
 
I assumed working for a commission would be high on any Republican's agenda.
If you don't get results, there's no commission.
 
Yep some salespeople are scum.

But fact of the matter if you did not have people out marketing and selling the products and services in whatever industry you are in well none of would have a fucking job.

Everything in life is selling period.


By the way did you know that Jesus was viewed as the best salesmen of all time.

As far as commissions go, up here in Canada land they take 45-50% off my commissions, bonuses etc.

I moved to Florida. Even after all that bad shit I said about it.

I am looking at homes in Ponte Vedra Beach. I am absolutely nuts about this one place I found on the beach for $1.1 million.

The thing is, I foresee real estate hurting quite a bit in the next 6 months up here in North Florida. Before I spend that kind of money, I want to gather more opinions about real estate. I may be able to get the place in March for let's say $850K.

What do you think? (Other opinions are welcome.)

No I played baseball and got paid well but I sometimes wonder if I should have been paying them. :D

The commission thing is working and has been working great for 6 years now...that's why I am still doing it.

I prefer to shoot intruders instead of throwing rocks.... plus hell if I could hit an intruder with a rock I sure as hell could have thrown more strikes.:rolleyes:

The price might have been lower if the dealer didn't have to jack it up to give someone a commission.

How hard is it to say: "Look sir! This car is good! Want to drive it?" Not hard enough to constitute making the consumer pay more, I'm sure.

Wait maybe I should work for you. What line of work do you do that you are looking houses in the million plus range?

I used to be a tech guy but I stopped because it was driving me Nuckin Futz. SO I stopped and did my thing.

I developed an idea for a tech reference book, which will be in the bookstores next Spring. I am negotiating the contract because I myself located someone to buy thousands of them. Naturally I want a bigger slice of those sales than the ones that come through distribtution.

I also developed a curriculum for high school students and I am negotiating with a few districts to buy the supplies from me. I have signatures to supply quite a few students (in the tens of thousands) with the required materials. And the great thing about this business is they have to buy new stuff ever year. Pricing is the big hangup now. I wanted $20 per student and they are talking $10. This could be a nationwide marketing effort.
In a bizarre (but funny) coincidence I got some of the first few tentative approvals the day after my gf broke up with me.

There are a few more things: I have a movie under development and some contacts in the industry who like the idea. It;s a long shot but what the fuck?? I am also getting into other educational things that I don;t want to disclose because I am still developing it.

As thee real estate market settles I will be there too. Too unpredictable now.

Sounds like you got a lot of good stuff going for ya. If ya need to market your materials in the Atlanta area I'd be glad to work for you as my industry is going down the tubes.
