36 years old and looking to grow.

A little help would be appreciated. I just turned 36 years old and I can't seem to grow like I did when I was in my twenties. I realize that this is just, "An age thing" but I would really like to hear from someone in this age group that has an answer. I work my ass off in the gym, my eating habits are close to perfect, and I sleep between 6 and 8 hours a day. I have been back in the gym for nearly 3 years and I'm sick of sweating my ass off only to see minimal results. I have thougt about juicing but don't know if it's a wise decision at my age, or what to take or where to get it. Anyone have any ideas? Thabks, Doug.

have you tried mixing up your training? whats your stats, what does your diet look like? how much cals.pro, carb, fat do you get in a day

what does your routine look like

post these and I will see how I can help

You might have the same problems I have, which is low natural test levels. The easy way to "fix" it is juice. My method involves sticking to heavy compound exercises as they stimulate the most test production, and doing regular sprints. Gains still come slow for me, but I am gaining.

The thing I had to learn is that I overtrain very easily. I have to train low volume and work each muscle more than once per week to see any gains. What is your routine like?

I have tried to mix up my training somewhat. I work out with several different people so I'm always doing different routines. How do you know when your overtraining? I try to work one body part a week but I will usually hit each part once every 5 days. My diet could be better but I try and be conscious about what I eat. I drink 2 protein shakes a day (MetRx). I sleep anywhere from 5 to 8 hours a day. I know these aren't perfect stats. but shouldn't I be seeing something? I am alot stronger than when I started but getting very frustrated not seeing much growth.

Bro I am in my thirties. I took 5 years off from training before making a comeback about a year and a half ago. Since coming back I have put on a good 50 lbs. It can be done. I did have to make some changes from what I did when I was young. First thing I found was my recovery is no where near what it was when I was in my 20's. So with that said, I only train everything once a week and do a low volume system. This has worked wonders. I have also found that I can not get away with eating shitty like I did when I was younger. Diet becomes even more important at this stage of the game. You also might want to go to the doc and get a complete blood panel done and see how your test and t-3 levels are.Hope this helps

Thanks for the responses. I will look into seeing a doctor about my t-3 levels. I'll keep at the weight training and try and eat better also. Thanks again for the advice.

If you honestly feel like you are doing everything right but still stuck, there is a new generation of Methylated pro-steroids that are legal (for now) and very effective. Do some research on things like:

M-1T
M1,4 diol
M-Dien
M4-OHN
M5-AA

With my standing in the community, I just can't take a chance on steroids and all the negative political issues, so I've been stocking up on these.

Hey Doug, 36 here myself here in a few weeks and do certainly notice the dif in gains from when I was in my 20's to now.

Key for me in making gains were uping the calorie intake, drinking 2 gallons of water a day and hitting the compound movements and goin' heavy !!
Where's Scotsman when ya need him,.."Deads are the shit!!!" :chomp:

HST program worked pretty well for my workout partner and I too; went through two cycles of it, and he's 42.
