It was a very simple christmas request from a beautiful little girl.. First on her list.. I can't deny her that. Im a softie that way.. :verygood:

He will respect me, and my boundries or he'll NEVER step foot in my house again. I've talked to him about this.. He knows how serious I am.

I tend to just be blunt, so don't think I'm rude. Your daughter is really going to have to get used to her parents being divorced... granting requests like this will just confuse her at some point. How old is she? My parents have been divorced since I was 5. My parents/step-parents all get along really well, but holidays have always been separate. I don't think I ever remember not being okay with it. We had a pretty standard routine for Christmas... I woke up at my mom's, we went to see aunts/uncles/grandparents. Then my dad would pick me up around 5pm and I'd go do the same with him. Granted it was a hectic schedule, but I always got to spend time with everyone and never felt left out of anything and I always felt very loved. I'm sure it's very difficult to look into sad or hopeful eyes and say no, but eventually it will give her stability.

On top of all that, I'm sorry you have to suffer through a visit with your ex. Hope it goes smoothly.

didn't take that as rude at all.. I understand completely .. my mom and dad divorced when I was 3 months and I know the hectic schedule thing..

My daughter is 7 and its been a tough 11 months for both of my kids but I've been VERY clear to them that mom and dad aren't getting back together, they don't like it and I've had to endure many of nights of tear which tore me up.. trust me. But 11 months later they finally have accepted it. Through it all she took it better than I ever expected and more times then I can even count she was the one consoling her big brother. Shes a smart girl.. she knows that this is not by any means an attempt to bring our family back together.
