22 g pin can't draw oil?

I tried drawing sus with a 22 g pin... no success! It was creating a vacuum. I COULD pull harder, but it just sucked up air. Was I doing something wrong or do I have to draw with a thicker gauge? Thanks

22g is thick enough to draw anything. Are you drawing from a vial? If so did you inject air into the vial first to prevent a vacuum?

Hell I've drawn fina with a 25 gauge. Now that's a challenge!!!

What temp. was the liquid? Aklso you need to vent the bottles to make sure there is no vaccuum....

It was an ampule... so should be no prob. The vacuum was created inside the syringe itself. I was able to draw SMALL amounts only. Luckily I had a 20 g left, so I used that - no problem. Any ideas?

Oil was warm also... had it in warm water for about 2-3 minutes prior to breaking amp.

the pin was probably clogged...........a fluke......shouldn't have happened tho.

i have had that happend to me also. i was using a 23gauge. i bought some 20 gauge and now there is no problem...

I use a 22 gauge for sus every time never had a problem. I think RADAR is right, must be a fluke!

Don't pull so hard on the pin or you will always pull air. Pull the oil in very slowly.
