20 Rep Squats....

I've been doing them for the past month or so...

I do three warm-up sets of 10 up to the amounts below....

Started at 135, then 185, then 205, then 225 then tonight was 245....

Got a spot for the 225 and 245....pretty light headed at the end of the set, but legs felt wobbly at 245...

Kinda skeered to go higher in weight...

Should I back off and go low-rep heavy for a while?

I got the same way when I did 20-rep squats for a while. It got to the point where The next jump in weight, maybe 10 lbs, felt like 100lbs. I backed off from that and went heavy for a week.

It is really hard to get psyched to 20 rep squats.

If you can stay psyched to go another 2 to 4 weeks you should. Learn to love that feeling. Think of it as a breakthrough to the next level.

If you just can't get psyched for another 20 rep session, go low and heavy for a week and see if you have added to your heavy weights.

Just my two cents.

I've done those and agree. It's hard to get psyched up for 20 reps squats. I'd do 3 warm up sets, like you and then each week, my last set would be 10 puonds heavier. Even though it was tough, I stuck with it. I got up to 275 for 20 reps and could do 450 for 3. At that point a minor lower back injury made me quit squats for a bit and I lost most of it. I can get 315 for some reps now, but not like before. I'll get back up there, though.
Are you doing deads, as well? If not, you need to include them......your squats will only get better.

yes, i would.
what is your reasoning behind doing the 20 reps? are you going for endurance training, like mountain climbing?

a little dizzy is no big deal, as long as you dont pass out.

im doint 20 rep squats this whole week, i just finished a 5x5 cycle, and am preparing for another one.

20 rep squats are good to throw in at the end of a strenght cycle.

alternate, one week 2 x 5 (or whatever), then 2 x 10, then 1 x 20 the third week... then back to 5's. Keeps things fresh and keeps you gaining
