17 of the top 20 threads are training journals...do we need a few forum?

this thread notwithstanding

Sometime over the last 18 months or so, this forum has become pretty much entirely training journals. It's a trend that's been duplicated pretty much all over the net as well.

I certainly dont have a problem with people wanting to keep a public record of their diet and training to solicit input and encouragement. I did the same thing myself in this forum 2.5 years ago. However, it seems that the Women's Fitness Forum has pretty much become nothing but training journals.
I find myself having to scan through all the journals to find diet or training threads.

What I would propose is a seperate forum within the Women's Lounge for everyone to maintain their journals, and return this forum to what it used to be, a venue for diet & training comments, information, and questions.

Now my reason for starting this thead is to gauge the opinions of everyone else. Do you ladies think we need to seperate forum for journals, and would you continue to use this one if all the journals were relocated? If I'm just out of step with all the newer members, I'll just move on to a new board, but if not maybe we can make this a place more of us can enjoy. :)

RW - sup chica :) I am tired but my best comment as of right now...

I do see this as an idea to be entertained... so other issues are not dismissed or overshadowed b/c of the *change* this forum has encountered over time.

Yet I have found the most thought provoking & engaging conversationalists have went there separate ways as well, and left things kinda well, dead in the water... for what ever reason … or as I have ‘heard’ … I was not here when the ‘greats’ were around to really discuss some fantastic & educational issues. . Which is why the turn came about ... or just another way to see it perhaps. I do feel your idea is worth entertaining and should be encouraged. I need to crash

Sweet dreams :rose:

Hey girl, I totally agree with you, there are so many journals on here it's hard to see the another threads, where questions are being asked. Not that there's anything wrong with the journals, but I agree we should have a separate forum for them.

:)

A good idea!

I also find it difficult to navigate through all the logs to find the question and/or info threads. I still have a lot to learn so I'm always searching & reading about diet tweaks, workout tweaks, etc.. Somedays it's a bit overwhelming.

I go to the other forums (Diet & exercise, Supplements, etc.) on occasion but I mainly stick to the womens forums. Because it's designated as a Women's forum it automatically eliminates a vast majority of "guy info" and that helps me find what I'm looking for. (No offense to the guys who post in the womens forums)

I asked for the same thing months ago. The journals are a great wealth of info but there needs to be a seprate section for them technically there is but it is a plat only section.

Good idea...if you read the journals they are a mixure of questions, support, diets, training....this place is moving...it was dead with out the journals....but hey i think Sassy put this idea in the Mod room.....

If we do end up with a separate forum for the Journals - I'd personally like to see it as part of the Women's Fitness Lounge - cuz that way we can still keep it attached to the Ladies' Forums and the journal's won't get "lost" in with those of the other 11,000 members of this site.....

So, the Women's Fitness Lounge would consist of: Women's Fitness Forum, Girl Talk & say, Women's Journals or something to that effect.

Thoughts??

To a friggin "T"

"Women's Training Journals"

an extension of the Women's Forum .. NO DOUBT

I also posted this in the Mod Forum:

"OH and I know that we can create our own Forum in the Platinum Member section - but I'd like to see the Women's Fitness Journal Forum be one that Plats & Non-Plats alike can read, use & post on as well....."

I stand corrected.......Just looked at the "Platinum Member Board" forum which says it's "Open to Everyone" - so it appears Plats & Non-Plats alike can view and/or post, but you'd need to be a Plat member to create it......

HOWEVER - I would still like it to be attached to the Women's Forum for ease of finding/searching and it would still be a part of our Women's Fitness Section....

Like I said, a new forum within the Women's Lounge. It would still be part of the women's area, but dedicated to journaling.

Glad to see there's so much interest in the idea. :)

I do remember it's proposal awhile back, but i think lack of 'follow through' & journaling was the reason it just faded away....

You hit it right on the nose... as usual :D

I agree 100% w/jens....I came here and never knew there was anything different than what it is - and I'm comfortable with it.....but a change up is always good! ...and just since I've been here in the last 8 mo. there and numerous new logs - which are absolutely AWESOME.....it think we should split them out and then also have a "question/comment" forum.

Actually this is the question and comment forum, but it's become filled up with journals.

Have a look at this link. This is what this forum used to be like.
