100m controversy

ok, so Drummond got some balls on him.
From the tv pictures he didnt do anything wrong, except twitch his right foot. Which triggered the sensors. SO what is the outcome gonna be?
Does this mean if you protest, you will get back in?

Personally i think the new false start rule sucks ass.

exactly, and he wasnt even the first one outta the block.
He didnt even lift his foot though, but we will see. they are supposed to run after this heat.

If he lifted his foot off and released his pressure then it is a technical false start! In reality it would slowdown his time because he would have to push his foot back rather than pushing off with the gun! He who reacts to the gun/start will get blown out of the blocks!

Drummond is the dumbass here, even though the organizers are to blame as well. He should have walked out when they told him to do so. His attitude only made it harder for the rest of the competitors to run the race later on.

He started to push off the blocks before the gun went.........he did not lift his foot off the block........he pushed against it.

To top it all he refused to leave because of a rule that was scrapped some time ago. If you are gonna argue you should at least get your argument straight!!

like everybody, the 100m runners at this WC want to remove the technical ruling, since it tends to react on impulses.

and if you want to be aa ass go Imnotdutch, go right ahead. I posted while it went on, the specifics wasnt as clear then.

i rally cant blame him for being upset like that.
he was surein his case. and when you train your whole life for something you have to be real strong to just walk away.

its the same as Linford Christies false starts 6 years ago.
really cant blame the guy.

Oh I fully understand him being upset........I would have been very suprised if he wasnt upset. However, he was totally disrespectful to the other athletes in the way that he handled it. His own training partner was in the same race........and he said that he should have walked.

I dont recall Christie causing that big a problem........

I agree with you in a sence, he did make trouble for the other runners. But i doubt he was thinking clearly.
Yeah, Linford almost got carried of the track. but it didnt go on for half an hour like this.

I cant understand the second part sorry :)

On UK TV we had Micheal Johnson looking at the video seconds after it happened. He pointed out the issue with the foot.

im norwegian, i dont blame you.
i wish we had good commentators on our channel.
here they were busy talking about his muscles instead of what was going on.

My opinion is that if a competitor refuses to move after several polite requests then he should be removed.........physically if necessary.

You are right that Linford did a similar thing........I think maybe the organisers here could have handled the situation better........much better. They didnt seem to have a clue........

is running big over in europe?

i guess it has to be considering your prices on gasoline. hohoho. :D

Europe is soccer crazy.........athletics is not that big. However, there is enough interest to justify quite extensive coverage on TV.
