10 Things You Might Not Know About Me

1. I stuttered so bad as a very young child that I needed to go through intense speech pathology private classes for years until I could actually speak (for the record, I am a very good speaker now, although I do occasionally stutter, but nothing noticeable)

2. I have never been faithful to a girlfriend

3. I have such a raging distaste for most human beings that I have become my own island, completely void of any human emotion relating to sympathy, empathy, love, caring, selflessness, sadness. And I couldn't be happier.

4. I do not talk to my sister

5. I have been shot at twice

6. I once set an entire forest on fire - a blaze that took four fire trucks to put out

7. I grew up in a city that had the second highest population of Italians in the country (my elementary school was named after St. Rocco). I never realized the world was not like this until I moved to Ohio in 6th grade. I feel out of place everywhere I am other than home, where I am surrounded by Italians.

8. My father once hit me in the head so hard I had to go to the hospital because I kept passing out.

9. I know for a fact that my father regularly gets prostitutes on his business trips.

10. The way I grew up - I was surrounded by "connected" people. Not like in the movies (for the most part), cause that's not how it was around me. Once again, I never really paid attention to it because it was just a part of life, it was how things were done. Once I moved away and saw that things were different everywhere else I realized what I had been around all my life. Even though I don't condone it and am not really involved in it, I miss being around that environment. It's what I know and where I feel comfortable.

1000. Im pretty sure I had a drinking problem in college which is what led to me going to 3 different schools before graduating.
1001. I went to Grad School for 2 years and never finished. I dont have any concrete plans to do so, although i think about it occasionally.
1002. I had Speech Therapy from 1st thru 7th grade due to a lisp and some other shit that was wrong with how I talked LOL
1003. I stutter over certain words when I talk too fast. And I mumble alot. Which is partly why I dont like to talk to people.
1004. I skipped Spanish 3 in high school and went right to Spanish 4. To this day I cannot speak Spanish. I remember a few words here and there.
1005. I had my IQ tested as a child. It was 130. Now its probably 65.
1006. I deadlifted with Tiger88 last summer.
1007. When someone asks what my dream job would be, I dont really know.
1008. I sit home on Friday nights. After the gym. With my cat.
1009. My son is a red head. And he's got a fiery personality to match.
1010. I had my gall bladder removed when my son was 2 months old.

11. When I was in grade school, I switched school in grade 4 and knew no one at the new school. One day, I beat up the most popular kid in the class because he was making fun of me. That caused the whole school (or so it seemed) to avoid me for the entire year. I almost failed the grade because of it.

Imagine it, a new kid in school and the ONLY people who would talk to him or give him the time of day were the teachers. I eventually stopped going outside for recess because no one would play with me and avoided me.

From time to time, when I'm by myself in a crowd or a party, I still remember what it felt like to be alone for the year.

On the good side, that time was spent spending more time with my brother. On the bad side, it was the beginning of the "life is cheap" belief and that "everyone is expendable".

In grade 5, a similiar thing happened. Except for two changes. One, I played alot of D&D with the 'less then popular' crowd, so this time I had (at least) some allies. Two, when the popular guy started making fun of me again, I beat him again, except this time, I used a metal swing against his head. He went down like a ton of bricks and the teacher on duty had to break it up. I almost went to juvi because of it.

Flash forward to grade 12. One of the kids in the grade 4 class was in my grade 12 class. Her brother died from cancer in the year.

I can still remember her first day back after the funeral.
I can still remember laughing at her because her brother died.
I can still remember sneaking in the graveyard and smashing her brother's tombstone twice (once they repaired it).
I can still remember her crying that year, because I would do my best to make fun of her dead brother every chance I saw her. I wasn't the small kid anymore and was bigger and stronger then any of her friends.

Today, normally, I'll think about it now and realize how terrible that was and now she must of felt. I'll think that I'd never want that on anyone no matter what they did and feel ashamed for doing what I did to her.

However, sometimes, not often, but sometimes, I think about it and smile.

This has got to be the worst fucking thing i have ever heard someone do out of animosity.

DT i love this thread:)
i got other stuff but im not telling lol

I'm thinking about forcing myself to go to Toastmasters meetings to get over my public speaking fear.

1. I am horribly horribly afraid of dying. I have intense panic attacks when I think about it. The thought of it chills me to the bone and absolutely terrifies me.

2. My mom was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma when I was about 14. She died when I was 17. She was 42 when she died. She was an amazing, warm, wonderful woman. I miss her intensely. I will never get over it.

3. I was raped by a close friend when I was a Junior in college.

4. After the rape, I was in an emotionally abusive relationship for about 3 years. I allowed him to berate me daily for being “ugly, fat and undesirable”. He rationed my food and daily made comments about why I was so much uglier and fatter than many people and celebrities (comments such as “Why don’t you look like Pam Anderson? I would be more attracted to you then.” were commonplace)

5. I grind my teeth in my sleep. All my teeth are flat because of it and my dentist says I will have no teeth by the time I am 50 if I keep it up. I don’t handle stress well.

6. My biological clock is ticking like crazy. I want to be pregnant SO SO badly.

7. I am very angry with my husband for putting off baby-making, after we agreed to start this month. He changed his mind without consulting me. I understand TOTALLY why he wants to wait a little, but I cannot help but be angry and very hurt. I have tried to talk to him about it, but he won’t budge or consider anything else. I am frustrated because he is not considering my feelings. This is not affecting our day-to-day relations, but inside I am very sad.

8. I cheated on a boyfriend years ago. My actions devastated him. I regret the pain I caused him to this day. I wish I could change how I behaved.

9. I *seem* very outgoing, but in reality I am very introverted. Everyone thinks I am a very social, outgoing person. But I really would rather not be around people – I’d rather be at home with only my husband.

10. I am VERY impatient.

11. I spill everything.

12. I hate the rain. I hate the cold. I love the sun and warm weather.

13. I skipped 2nd grade.

14. I wish I took college more seriously. I skated through, drinking and skipping classes for the first 2 years. My GPA suffered because of it. The last 2 years I made Dean’s List every semester, but even that couldn’t repair the damage that was done. I am mad at myself because I am better than that.

15. I love my husband more than anything. Sometimes, my heart aches when I think about how much he means to me. He is a wonderful man and I am very lucky.

16. I suck at math. Really badly.

17. I am very nosey. I love knowing gossip.

Dasy_girl you have been through some tough times in your life. :(
What made you stay with him for 3 years?

Not sure - insecurity, low self-esteem, likely many unresolved issues after being raped.... Regardless, as horrible as he was to me, I LET him do this. I could have left, but was never emotionally strong enough. To his credit, he looked me up several years ago and called me to apologize for how he treated me. That took maturity on his part.

I already suffered from slight low self-esteem - but this relationship REALLY caused some serious body image issues with me. My husband has really helped me get over these issues - and he doesn't even realizewhat an impact he has had on my self-esteem. :)

Somebody drills that into your head long enough you convince yourself you're lucky to have anyone at all......happens a lot more frequently than it should.

WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT RED KARMA FOR?

I was being sympathetic and I honestly think people should be nice to eachother Basically to embrace uniqueness in others. I was referring to all the stories that people have posted, about the hardship in life they have encountered. Not just one particular story.

I have no idea why you gave me red but this is the second time I got it from you which is quite unfair. :(

yasmina thought ulcaster was making fun of stutterers. In high school I had a good friend who stammers really really bad. His parents live down the street from mine. He's now married w/child and I couldn't be happier for him. I thought he'd be single for life.....now i'm the one who's still single. LOL

I understand that stuttering is a sensitive issue for many people.

BUT where in my post did I make fun of ANYONE?
I was being NICE.

what type of 'rapes' were they? attacked when walking down a dark alley or something? or fooling around with a guy and suddenly deciding you want to stop?

How about being JUST friends with a guy for several years, never anything more, never even the suggestion there was more. Then one night, when hanging out he decides he wants to be "more than friends". I refused his advances. So he then took to completely overpowering me by grabbing my hair, pulling it, dragging me to the bed, holding me down with his body weight, then tying me up, pulled my shorts down and having sex with me while I am screaming, crying and yelling NO hysterically. He used his body weight to hold me down the entire time, sometimes even using his forearm pressed on my throat or my mouth.

He was about a foot taller than me, and about 75lbs heavier. I had no chance.

Afterward, he left the apartment. I eventually got loose, got dressed and walked over 5 miles home (this was pre-cell phone era) at about 1am.

Is that a "real" enough rape for you? Or would you like me to go into more detail?

Maybe I can explain to you the nightmares I had for months afterward, the complete withdrawl from my then-boyfriend - which led to me finding someone who would mistreat me because I deserved it, my withdrawl from my friends, my embarrassment and shame because I thought I "asked for it", my complete mistrust of males - which only changed with my now-husband, and the complete FEAR I had when I ran into my rapist one day randomly at a restaurant - I ran and hid in the girls bathroom until I was sure he was gone.

omg I am so sorry daisy (opps).... don’t let that asshole get to you.. He is probably of those fuckers that do these horrible things to women because he thinks they asked for it... Keep your head high... I am sure from this horrible situation it has made you stronger.. That is the only thing that can come of that situation...

For the dick that is probably going to respond to my comments.. F you... A rape is a rape however you look at it... Just because some girl is talking with you does not mean that she wants to have sex with you.. Get a GRIP.. And if this is the way you get women.. You are one of the biggest sum on this planet…

Nothing. I never did anything about it. I felt I deserved it by being at HIS apartment at night alone, even though I never did ANYTHING to encourage him. Hell, I had a serious BF and he knew my BF! I just pretended it never happened by day, and alone dealt with the nightmares and re-living it by night.

I was also young and clueless - 20 years old, sheltered. Now, I would prosecute his ass without thinking twice.

That depends.

Rape is a tricky thing. In some cases, the guy is scum and did it on purpose. In other cases, the GIRL is scum and did it to get back at the guy.

I know a guy who had is career ruined because his girlfriend cried rape after they had sex consentually. The theory was that he was going to break up with her and that it was a last night of sex before he let her go.

I realize that this is a case of he said vs she said, but then she did it again to someone else.

Yup, got over it eventually. And like Ender said, there is such a thing as Karma. We all get what we deserve eventually.

I would like to stop harping on what happened to ME. It is not relevant in my life now. I am happy, healthy, and content. I prefer NOT to dwell on this ONE thing that happened a lifetime ago. Far worse things happen to people everyday.

It's funny, for quite awhile I imagined things like that ....but as I "grew up" I guess I started feeling sorry for him. NOT for doing what he did to me, but for his obvious INTENSE personal problems.

Hopefully, some other girl had the balls I didn't have.

That was a very ignorant statement on his part.. Anyone that would lie about rape is garbage, and ender you are right karma always will always catch up with you....

I wouldn't feel too bad for him. He got some great pussy for free and without repercussions. You shoulda had your boy fuck him up atleast.

Hmm.

In 89 I was out with friends and two guys friends of a male friend of mine physically picked me up and put me in his freind's pick up truck with his friend. Everyone including myself figured (always bad to assume) we were all going to the next stop. Well, that didn't happen.

Skip to the near end... I jumped out of second story window into a bush to get away from them.

Not sure how to classify that one, any ideas?

I can recall once back in 1989 a relationship I was in was ending much to my disappointment. One night I showed up at her apt very late, no idea what time. She lets me in where I basically nag the daylights out of her until she lets me have sex with her. She gives in because she realizes it's the quickest way to get rid of me. While I never physically forced myself on her AT ALL I knew I shouldn't be there and end up leaving before the act is finished. She was quite pissed and happy to see me leave. I believe they call this date rape nowadays. Fast forward to 1999 or so; I've now moved across country and see her on AIM one day. Despite the fact that we remained great friends afterwards I can't take it anymore. I offer the most sincere apology I can muster. She immediately puts me at ease, tells me that it wasn't a big deal and she really never thought much about it after that night. I still feel like I owe her an apology to her face and someday she will get it....even if she doesn't think it's necessary I do.

I find it really sad that this is more common (at least to the women here) then I thought.

I just can't imagine how damaging that must have been and what kind of person would get off on doing that to another human being?

I had dated a body builder that was silently in love with his best freind's wife who was 5' nothing and maybe 95 lbs with boots on. He always made comments that he wished I was more like her. So I asked him why in the world he asked me out and why was he even with me because at 5'7" and in the 140's I was anything but like her.

I'm the very same way. Large groups of people, parties and social functions are things I just dread, I am far more content in my own head and in my own space shared with one other person or a small gathering of 2,3 friends.

You still should.

I just mingle say hello to everyone, catch up with a few, armed with drink in hand and count the moments until I can safely leave.

Oh, I dunno.

I'd imagine you to bat your eyes in that come hither look at one special guy...

Exactly like me. :) Although I will usually hang solely with the 1-2 people I can actually STAND. :)

I had dated a body builder that was silently in love with his best freind's wife who was 5' nothing and maybe 95 lbs with boots on. He always made comments that he wished I was more like her. Then you need to date taller men ;) :qt:

1.) I'm a virgin at 20, never had a real kiss either

2.) I tend to get enfatuated with one girl rather than just thinking many are hot. Right now it's the girl i see in the gym daily wearing the same black spandex shorts. She looks perfect. I could marry her without even speaking to her.

3.) I am extremely observant. I can read people like a book.

4.) I have been self conscious about my looks my whole life.

5.) I feel overwhelmed with my future

6) I'm going to law school next year and I dont want to do it anymore. I perfer science.

7.) My hero is my father. He is amazing. Played pro-Rugby for Ireland, master electrician, owns his own contracting company, fixes stuff better than Bob Villa. Amazing father yet I have never said, "I love you" to him. I have never hugged him either.

8.) I feel terribly sad when I see physically handicapped people. I once teared up at the gym becuase this lady (in her teens) had some physcial problem were she couldnt walk right. She was on the eliptical trainer being helped by her mom. People noticed me tearing up but i didnt care and turned that sadness into anger and had a new PR on shoulder presses.

9.) I'm jealous of better looking people.

10.) I like this thread so much because I'm nosy.

11. suffer from extreme stage fright

12. plan on doing a figure comp in July and I'm nervous as hell... worried I will clam up immediately

13. Had one girl I hated in Jr. High and was a real bully to her.

14. have alot of things happen in my life I never talk about to anyone

15. Have visited an immediate family memeber in jail.

16. anal-retentive when it comes to my checkbook.. can't stand when it doesn't balance and will sit for hours till I figure it out.

17. Takes alot to anger me now but a person hits the right strings (my family) and gets me really angry I'm likely to just hit them instead of mouthing off.. I know it solves nothing and I'm not all that proud of it but I hate to argue.

18. I have a horrible self image complex

If number 3 were true.. you wouldnt be a virgin.

Actually, the ability to read people ususally leads to being self concience. You tend to always be thinking about what other people are thinking, makes you unable to talk normally, as opposed to someone who just doesn't care. I had the same problem when I was younger. I still read people really well, but I've gotten over the caring part.

that makes alot of sense. i always do exactly what you are saying. i listen to people and think what they are thinking of me. i also pay attention to their body language alot and their change of word usage.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is Crohns disease?

Crohn's disease causes inflammation in the small intestine. Crohn's disease usually occurs in the lower part of the small intestine, called the ileum, but it can affect any part of the digestive tract, from the mouth to the anus. The inflammation extends deep into the lining of the affected organ. The inflammation can cause pain and can make the intestines empty frequently, resulting in diarrhea.

Crohn's disease is an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), the general name for diseases that cause inflammation in the intestines. Crohn's disease can be difficult to diagnose because its symptoms are similar to other intestinal disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome and to another type of IBD called ulcerative colitis. Ulcerative colitis causes inflammation and ulcers in the top layer of the lining of the large intestine.

Crohn's disease affects men and women equally and seems to run in some families. About 20 percent of people with Crohn's disease have a blood relative with some form of IBD, most often a brother or sister and sometimes a parent or child.

Crohn's disease may also be called ileitis or enteritis.

26. I never told my parents about the first bodybuilding contest I entered. My mom found out when one of her friends heard my name on the evening news...musta been a slow news day.
27. When I was 11 my dad promised to take me fishing after my mom caused me to miss a cub scout fishing trip to finish my homework; he never did. Even though I hate fishing I'm still angry about that.

I think 30 is going to be OK. I just bench pressed more than ever, and I turn 30 tomorrow. And I'm feeling more stable, productive, and happier than I ever have before.

20. In Jamaica on Spring Break, there was one main bar/beach that everyone hung at everyday during the day. They had a stage and an MC that would call random drinking competitions, like flipcup. Teams would get up there from different schools and compete and rack up points, so a winning school would be declared at the end of the week. You could also go up and make challenges of your own (i.e. I cna chug this beer faster and smash it over my head) for points. The more crazy the competition was, the more points the winner got. We had about 60 kids from our small little no-name school, and we had won the comp the last 2 years. At one point I went up there and challeneged anyone to drink a bottle of Jack Daniels faster than me. A bottle. The MC started freaking out saying they couldn't do that (while my entire school was going crazy on the beach). I told him, "Relax dude, I do this all the time". Finally got a kid from FSU to accept, and it was set for the next day. The whole damn Spring Break was talking abut it all night. The next day the kid never showed. So I sat on stage by myself and drank the entire bottle. Game over. Also, we bought a goat and brought it on stage while a bunch of our chicks were naked. Needless to say, were a threepeat.

Awesome dude. One of my good buddies can do the same shit with whiskey. One time we were at a bar up in Montreal and I dunno how it came up but we got the bartender to bet us that my bud couldn't drink 10 shots of whiskey in less than 10 seconds. He fucking doubled fisted them down the line in 5. Great times.

I couldn't even dream of doing that anymore. But in college I literally walked around the parties with a bottle in my hand drinking it. Then drank jack and cokes at the bar. then came home and did God knows what
