Keeping a physical diary of my weight training

I was wondering about keeping a physical diary while I weight train. I see some guys in the gym doing that. They'll bring a notepad and mark down the number of reps and sets they're doing on each exercise.
I like to keep things really simple and I don't have a good memory, so would this be a good strategy for me or do you guys just commit it to memory and I should try better?

If having a physical logbook to track your workouts, works for you, then do just that. I keep a physical logbook that I track and record my training with and I find it works best for me. I didn’t grow up with smartphones or iPads though, so a physical logbook makes more sense to me.

There are apps that you can download to your phone to track your training with, if that would be better suited to you if you prefer the convenience of your phone.

Bros, really a lot of people aren't good at memorizing and I respect that. For me I know exactly how much weight I can do on every exercise. I definitely remember.
