Hey guys, I decided to test this and bought some wrestling shoes.
Before I was using Adidas running shoes with a thick soft heel.
The day I tried using wrestling shoes instead I was able to squat 50 lbs more than last time I lifted.
Coincidence?
Hey guys I know Chronos... we lift together...
Someone please tell him he needs to do his squats and rows :p It's like pulling teeth to get him to do them!
And someone tell him not to spend so much time doing curls...
Also are you guys encouraging him to go back to drinking Dr. Pepper...
Decline has sure lost favor. I remember years ago everyone was doing decline. Now the gyms here don't even have decline benches.
Fine with me, I always get tired of trying to remember so many different lifts...
I have been squatting in my cross-trainers, I didn't know it was a problem but I DID notice it's hard to balance because the sole squishes around.
What the hell are "chucks", "oly shoes", etc.? Someone break it down for me, what kind of shoes do I need to buy for lifting? If it will help my...
Hey guys. I have been lifting for about 6 weeks now. My upper body has been making good progress. I have gone from 225 max bench to 275 max bench. Unfortunately, the gym I have been going to doesn't have a squat rack and also doesn't have bumper weights for doing dead lifts.
So, yesterday I...
If you think someone is wrong, explain yourself. Or are you not smart enough to use your words? Maybe you are just a troll.
Anyway, I just wanted to let y'all know, I have been pleasantly surprised that we HAVE been making progress, even though we have only been lifting 1 time a week, fully...
I have actually lifted before but I don't have tons of experience.
There is a question that my friends and I have debated over the years and I don't know who is right. Here it is. 2 things (and remember we are NATURAL lifters, none of us is using gear or anything but protein):
He says a...
Me and my friend started lifting recently.
We do bench and incline and shoulder work as well as pullups, among other things, but we don't know how to do rows. I was told rows are one of the base lifts that you should definitely include in your routine.
Anyone know of a site that explains how...
Do any of you guys use creatine?
Does it help enough to be worth using?
What kind works best? I know there is simple creatine monohydrate, then there's all these other variations. It's enough to make a guy confused. Back when I used to lift there was only 1 kind. Now I'm back lifting and...
Great ideas, guys! I think this will help a lot.
Another thing I noticed is he grips the bar wider than I do, and my shoulders are wider than his. I have used the same grip since high school, when I experimented a little with different grips and my coach advised me also. I think he is...
My nephew is new to weight lifting. I am helping him learn what I know (which I hope is enough).
I was taught that when you bench press, you bring the bar down to your chest at slightly below your nipples.
However, when my nephew benches he brings the bar down too high, sometimes to the...
