    Pre contest tips or advice

Do not take out the dextrose, it's key for post recovery. Replaces your glycogen almost immediately and since it's only replacing what energy you burnt at the gym it won't be stored as fat. The slow release carbs (i.e rice, oatmeal, etc) low glycemic carbs are the slow release that can be stored...

Dieting how many cals per pound of bodyweight?

4% seems pretty ambitious, I was thinking between 5.5 and 6%. MAybe it's the combo of precontest prep and the ephedrine but it seems like every little thing is starting to worry me. For example, in the gym yesterday there was a kid who wasn't more than 130 pounds but to me he looked ripped and I...

    CArbing up for a show

I want to be as big as possible in the lightest weight division possible. The middleweight division is up to 176. If i can hover around that bodyweight and then carb up to 180-83, I'll be pretty big for that div. It makes sense to me but since it's my first contest I could be wrong.Lemme know...

Dieting how many cals per pound of bodyweight?

I guess it's if 8.5% is good enough at 6 weeks out. I'm starting to get paranoid about everything now. Losing m uscle, strength going down, etc. I keep wanting to up my calories but my buddy says don't, he's been right so far but the paranoia about looking like a rack of bones onstage is killing...

    Creatine and dieting

I'm six weeks out and i'm still using creatine. Should I switch to just a simple sugar (dextrose) or is the creatine fine. If the creatine is fine, how long before the comp should I cut it out to ensure i'm not holding any extra water from it. Wiggum

    CArbing up for a show

I plan on competing in the middleweight division. I'm just wondering, if my diet continues as is, I'll be 175. If your supposed to start carbing up three days out, that will put me over. If I wait until after the weigh in, will the carbs have time to properly fill me out before the show the next...

Dieting how many cals per pound of bodyweight?

I've been using Scott abel's 12 calories per pound of bodyweight. HAs anyone else used this method. I'm 6 weeks out from a show, 5"6, 187 8.5%bf. I'm just looking for the last finishing touches, i'm losing approx 2 pounds per week. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Wiggum
