Always hungry

when i get hungry(and LORD knows thats all the time) i will drink lots of water or water w/lemon. it helps me. or you can try eating more fiber with more meals. i try to eat brocolli with at least 4 out of the 6 meals a day. and as we know fiber expands yuor stomach making your stomach feel full.

I eat a ton...

Meal 1 Protein shake
Meal 2 Applesauce or cereal
Meal 3 1 cup pasta or rice and veggies
Meal 4 Protein bar
Meal 5 Pizza or a sandwich
Meal 6 Protein shake

I'm a bhuddist so do not eat meat.
Thanks!

if you dont mind...heres what i would do

meal #3 i'd throw in some protien..like a shake or something. since you dont eat meat, you are limited.

what kind of sandwich is meal #5.

pizza?? holymoly..if that was me i'd be a balloon...oh wait.. i am a balloon..:FRlol:

i personally think you should knock out shake #1 and eat a meal. like egg whites with oatmeal.

and you really dont eat a ton. you should actually eat little more food and not so much shakes and bars. dont forget..they are supplements and should only be used as that. not as a meal. thats my theory.

that sounds like good advice. Can you microwave eggs? I really suck at cooking (I'm not even sure my oven works and I've had my house for 8 years). I do know how to make microwave meals tho, so if I can nuke the eggs, I'm set...Sandwich is usually peanut butter or tomato. Sometimes veggie sandwich, or Quizno's veggie hoagie. Sometimes a bean burrito.

Drink a lot
drink carbonated diet drinks
eat soups (vegetables soups)
eat fiber (bran, vegetables)

you will fill your stomach and you won't feel that hungry

foods rich in salt (ie pizza) make you feel hungry

You can nuke eggs, but I've always found that they taste a little funny and have kind of an odd texture.

You might try a teflon frying pan...easier to clean up if you do burn 'em.

Doofy, I'm surprised you didn't mention these:

Oatmeal pancakes, very easy, very yummy:

5 egg whites
1 packet instant oatmeal
cinnamon
splenda to taste
anise seeds

Whisk up together, then pour into non-stick frying pan or pan with non-stick non-fat cooking spray. You can make one big one or several small ones. Cook till browned on one side, then flip and cook til browned on other side. Serve with cottage cheese and non-sugar, non-carb syrup.

For a savoury variation:

5 egg whites
1 packet instant oatmeal
some dried basil
some dried oregano (or any herbs you like)
dash of paprika or chilli powder, or cayenne pepper if you like

Cook the same way, and serve with cottage cheese and non-fat salsa.

Or, if you allow yourself cheese, or have non-fat cheese, you could add some vegies and cheese on top and toss it in the grill for a much healthier pizza.

Very filling, very yummy, low calorie, low fat, easy to cook. And a good way to disguise egg whites if you can't stand the things! (like me)

I'd toss the pizza if you're trying to eat clean. Add in some baked sweet potatoes, (set oven to 350-400f, wrap potato in foil, toss on rack in oven, wait 1 hour - voila - potato!), maybe a little bit of tofu (also good mixed with egg whites to make an omelette) ...

Enjoy.

Oh, forgot to mention - veggies! Eat several cups of broccoli, cabbage, celery, lettuce, green beans, etc, etc. per day, and you'll never feel hungry. Steam them so you don't cook the good stuff out of them. (except the lettuce).

BTW - I assume you're just trying to maintain, not cut or anything?

dont be afraid to eat...the more food you eat the harder your body will be working to digest it..ie..it will constantly be burning nrg to digest your food! so eat up!!

i used to be hungry 24/7..but now i just have bigger meals...more protein more vegies, bigger salads. Remember to stick within your carbs limit and you will be fine!

Also replace shakes and bars with chicken, turkey, tuna etc

No bread!!! geez no wonder your hungry...bread is garbage!!

you can make eggs in the microwave....I bought this thing called ez omelet for 5 bucks on ebay...

you just pour the egg whites in the plastic thing and nuke it up...they come out great

some people say aspartame (ie in diet soda) makes you feel hungry ....

don't know if it is true

carbonated water (ie perrier) with no sugar/sweetener is a good alternative

your diet is low in fats. which is probably one reason why you always feel hungry. eating meals which contain good fats and fiber will leave you feeling satisfied longer.

Egg whites with oatmeal is a very filling and healthy breakfast! And it tastes awesome! Add in some veggies for mo' flava!
Ever try trail mix or soynuts with a meal? High in protein in yummy! Good energy boost too! You can throw in some walnuts to Steelweavers pancakes for a variation.

heres a small recipe for an egg white pancake

10 egg whites--(you can use how many depanding on protien intake)

1/2 cup oatmeal

1 tsp wheat pancake mix

put all in blender for 20 seconds

and cook in nonstick pan like a pancake.

i will usually put some sugarfree jam or some mixed fruit on top of it...nothing beats it.....!!!!

I have not tried it but I will. What are steelweavers pancakes?

See my post on page 1 of this thread, honey - the long one with the recipes ...

Also, if you enter "protein pancakes" or "oatmeal pancakes" in the search engine on this board, you'll get about a hundred different, delicious recipes for similar pancakes

I am so embarrassed! I just noticed your name was Steelweaver. I had thought Steelweaver's was a brand name <blushing>. The most embarrassing thing is that I had tried the pancakes (minus the splenda cause I didn't know what it was) and really liked them, so I'd actually already had Steelweaver's pancakes. BTW, this is a great solution to how to eat eggs for me. I can't stand the texture of eggs when they are cooked by themselves--too slimy. So thanks!

No problem, doll :D And you're welcome!

Glad you liked them. Yeah, splenda = fake sugar.

And I absolutely agree on this being an awesome way to choke all those icky egg whites down - I particularly like the cinnamon ones - just got some carb/sugar free maple syrup the other day, and they are even more scrumptious than before! Hell, I hardly feel like I'm dieting!
