Halp.
I'm assuming most people with college teaching jobs get some kind of instruction on how to utilize blackboard. Since I am last minute filling in for someone else and didn't have it when I was in college, I'm completely lost.
I have the syllabus posted, the course calender set up with quizes/tests/assignments, and instructor information up. For a scuba class designed so that a ten year old can pass (youngest age to be certified through PADI), I'm not sure how much more detailed I need to be getting. That said, these kid's families are paying almost more than anywhere else in the country to send their kids to this school, so I feel obligated to make sure I'm offering them the most resources possible.
Other than what I listed having posted up, and possible announcements, is there any other section that I really need to be paying attention to, given the class I'm teaching? Students who use this can answer, too. How much of a role does this play if I'm not going to be posting assignments and such? It seems like a lot of the places I can enter info are covered in the syllabus.
