GOP wins the house! will there be any CHANGES?

I think this will make for more 'even" government...or total stalemate...

the dems still have the senate and executive branch

the GOP will take the heat right along with the dems now

interestingly enough CT elected its first democratic governor in 16 years
I think people really just voted for whatever was opposite of what they already had

Depends on if the demo sulk around now, or get fired up and compel Obama to rape with the veto.

Overall, most of the Republicans who won are actually conservative, as opposed to H.W./W Bush Republicanism. That's a positive way to start out, but obvious change really won't happen for a while.

now see i like conservatives on both sides..its when someone goes to any extreme in any direction that its a problem

Yup...Obama's gonna be riding in the back of the fucking bus now...LMAO

Seriously, though, there's going to be a whole lot of nothing going on for the next 2 years...stalemate after stalemate. Which, given how that fool Obama and his liberal buddies were squandering money, is a good thing for the US. At least the spending will slow down to a trickle.

i think not.

I agree.

I hope the bipartisan commission for the budget deficit comes up with a solid plan and both parties support it. That will not happen.

We are witnessing the demise, I should say destruction, of the greatest nation on the planet. I am really fearful. The feds decision to increase QE by $700 billion is another nail in the coffin.

BTW I am short the dollar, it is going to depreciate like crazy.

I'd settle for perpetual gridlock.

Obamacare will cost another couple million US jobs, but at least after that we can stop the bleeding. Entitlements will bankrupt us over the next couple of decades, but at least we should be allowed to do it slowly with dignity. Barry is speeding up the process.

Well i read on Yahoo news that we were going to spend 511million on expanding the U.S. Embassy in Afganastan...WTF...how bout putting that 511 million down on our debt here?...hopefully shit like that will change now.

Not likely. The embassy we built in Iraq is by far the largest and most expensive in the world. And that was back in like 2004.

how are they going to do that, doesnt the senate have to be on board? GOP doesnt have the senate, although they picked up seats.

gop is only 5 seats short i believe, and def could proly lure a few dems, esp those up for election in 2012.
but obama has the final say with the veto, no way he doesn't use it.
we are stuck with it, maybe it will be a good foundation to build from with some compromise on the messiah's part (if the gop can hear him since he will be far away in the backseat hahahhahhaha)

Don't get too smug.

yep exactly.
this could easily backfire like it did to the dems.
if nothing get's better in the next two yrs obama has
a hella good election pitch
"see look what the gop did time for more hope and change!!"
he'll easily win, the house will tilt back dem (not sure if that is numerically possible though) and the senate will become more blue and the gop's conservative base shrinks.
this could easily happen imo

boehner does seem like a smug fug though.
db's words are prophetic, not a time for smugness

No plunky didnt mean it like that....the gridlock means at least it wont get any worse...then when we have a real president in office in 2012 we can try to start and fix it.

Think of the various people who's been in office over the past few decades. Does it ever change? Does it ever seem different?

LOL @ "real president". You fools are gonna nominate that cunt Palin. And she'll go down in flames.

I don't think gridlock will be a good thing.

Rightly or wrongly the ship still needs to be steered.

America is the land has the greatest concentration of power in the fewest people and still can't get shit done.

reluctantly agree

do you really believe that?
dude is always making jabs at our country from afar btw.

I agree that gridlock is never a good thing.

Why bother having a government if it accomplishes absolutely nothing?

And technically, he's also correct about (what I assumed he meant) the income/wealth disparity in the US.

agree with gridlock.
bristle at a non-citizen saying we don't get shit done.

Steering would be preferable, but gridlock is better than what we have now.

If only somebody could make someone truly social indifferent (no causes in either direction), then give them Gingrich/Paul/Palin's positions and Obama's charisma. Then we'd be all set.

Until then, I'll settle for no further damage.

2 years ago they taught the republicans a "lesson". Now they teach the democrats a "lesson".

Seriuosly, does american citizen stupidity know no bounds? How many more centuries will it take before americans realize what a scam the 2-party system is on them?

Wait, I bet in 2 years they'll teach the republicans a "lesson" again! That'll TEACH them! hahahahaha.

Its not going to be Romney. Remember that Obamacare is pretty much a carbon copy of the health care system that Romney instituted in Mass. Also, Romney is a moderate, whereas the Republican party (taking direction from the Tea Party) has shifted more and more to the right.

I wouldnt be surprised to see someone like Mitch Daniels get the nomination.

Romney is a Mormon, not a good blend with the bible thumping conservs from the south.
Still I think he's be a great candidate, he's a great business man and would be far better than most options.

The Christian right is now the Tea Party. As long as youre not perceived to be a muslim its all the same...hence why Huckabee wont win. He only appeals to evangelicals.

I know I'll see Kondracke on Fox News doing commentary and analysis this Sunday, even after his comments at Roll Call.

Want to bet I don't see Juan Williams doing commentary and analysis this Sunday on PBS?

This is why you need to step outside of your bubble every now and then. There are channels other than CNN and MSNBC.

And what's up with liberals and the whole Hitler thing?

Did I miss him placing a Hitler moustache on somebody? Link please.

Not sure, but his repeated attempts to label Obama as a socialist and a marxist prove two things:

1) He has no idea what socialism is.

2) He has no idea what marxism is.

3) He has no idea that there's a difference between the two. A pretty significant one.

Okay, three things.

Glad I'm in good company with all the postors above; most of whom I can agree with! I wish I could think things would move forward, but the government is still too polarized with the extreme left and extreme right facing each other. That can't work too well. Moderation please. I happen to be a fiscal rightwing extremist, but a social moderate. I wish my fellow Republicans could get a little less hard on things like Gay marriage and abortion, and let those things be private matters and let the government BUTT OUT altogether. On the other hand, I also want the government to BUTT OUT of oil drilling, the environment, and all the other things they stick their noses in. All I want our government to do, is give us good armed forces, and shut up about everything else. The states can handle their own lawmaking, environmental issues, and all. Look at the gun laws: So convoluted that nobody can figure them out. NYC (last I heard), has some kind of total ban on guns, but the state of New York says they're OK, and the Federal Government says something else altogether. I can't keep up . On immigration, SHUT THE DANG BORDER NOW, and worry about illegals already here, LATER. Going after illegals here, while they're still pouring in, makes as much sense as sailing a boat with a big hole in it, thinking it's OK as long as you carry a big bucket with you. The illegals I know personally, would like nothing better than to just get real, and pay taxes, and pay their own way. I know that's not true with all of them, but I also know a lot of Americans on free handouts too, and having babies just to increase welfare payments. That's not just immigrants doing that.

this is what i've grown to expect from the teabagger/GOP perspcetive.

And all this time I thought Jerry Falwell held the patent on smearing politics with sexual deviancy.
