HDL/LDL issues. Need help brothers

No matter if I "mega dose" or go back to my HRT doses. My HDL is always down. And my LDL is always up.

What can be used to change this ratio around? Bringing HDL up and LDL down. What actually works? And is effective?

Or is this something I'm just going to have to deal with the rest of my life?

what are the numbers? Was it like this always or is it something which has changed since your started using?
For me eating clean worked well regardless of what I take. Cardio is another thing that helped.

i agree on cardio - many guys are scared of it when trying to gain size but i always do a fast 10 minute run after every workout also lots of fish oil and wholegrain , also i eat whole eggs every day and that seems to help , good luck buddy cholesterol is something that should be looked after

Spark, I agree with you. Fish oil, eggs (they can be Omega 3 eggs as well) and cardio all are very important. For me I get my HR to about 140 on an incline walk for no less than 30 minutes at 3xs per week.

There are 2 types of LDL, one is small and dense and can lodge under cells and cause plaque buildup, the other is larger light and floats through the blood vessels and is not harmful. Almost all cholesterol tests done today do not actually test your LDL to determine its makeup, they simply subtract your HDL from total Cholesterol and call it your LDL so its totally misleading. Before you get too worried I suggest having a complete cholesterol panel done where they evaluate the actual contents of the LDL.

HDL LDL and VLDL yep, it's the ugly stuff..

Fish oils cardio.. fiber will lower your triglycerides as well.. 15+ grams per day..

I had problems too. Doc put me on lipitor, but I had the muscle pain/weakness you hear about in the ads.

1 gelcap 3x/day of Omega 3,6,9 and 100 mg Niacin (if it says "no flush" it wont work)/day bring me down well below any risk factors. No change in diet or TRT dose.

Don't recall the number "exactly". But HDL is always low and LDL high. For example, let's say HDL shouldn't be lower than 40. Mine is around 25-30. But remember, 40 is "lowest" it can go.

And LDL is always about 10 points higher. However! VLDL always in range. On the high end but always in range.

My HDL is always near 40-45 and my LDL is always in the 60's. After oral cycles (when I did them) my HDL would get hammered into the 20's but it would rebound within few months using the supplements below.

I take fish oil 3mg ED
Red Yeast Rice w/ COQ10 ED
policosanol 20mg ED

I take fish oil year round. I cycle the Red Yeast Rice and policosanol generally taking it for the duration of the bottle and then taking a break.

Garlic is also an awesome supplement. I also use it a lot in cooking.
