Being a cop feels good for the first year or two. By year five, you are living off of telling the stories and everyone's reaction. When you get to year seven and the ones that come after that, you are sick of the stories, the job and you just want your soul back.
Sorry if it's not what you were looking for but that's the true story in a nutshell.

Ok, unlike several of the people on here, I know what that actually means when you say combat medic blah blah blah combat support hospital. I know 6 other people who did the same thing.
2 are Police officers I worked with and I have heard them compare the two jobs and they are the only ones who could rightfully compare the two. I would take a few months- a year in hell over nine years in hell, anyday. That little speech might make some people think you are cool around here but I know your secret.
I have had several therapists. They don't help so get off my ass, GI Jane wanna be.

I forgot to mention that the other combat medics I knew worked with my wife. They had to go through a shitload of training when they got back to have a real job. I bet it really pissed you off when you found out that military medic training isnt accepted by EMS in the states. A military medic isn't even considered qualified to be an EMT-basic, let alone a MEDIC in the states. That sucks.
