Something seems amiss. Its much tamer for sure, but somewhat flat
and odorless. I know there was a "housecleaning" of sorts and i'm
sure there was a need to get rid of some ill intentioned peeps who
used the boards as a catharsis for their anger and disatisfaction.

It feels a little constrictive and pedestrian. Am i being over the top?
Is it the stark contrast from the wild west days of JH1, Jacksparrow
and Heather ?

Great bunch of peeps here, old and new, but i'm just tryin' to figure
out the lack of punch.

The ebb and flow of C&C goes up and down, and don't I plan on going to any other forums. This being my first and last. That said, doesn't appear to be the most accessible/open of social networks, at least in the past anyway, and it takes time and effort to build/relay your narrative.

As a result, the stories of peeps who are gone or bant, have to be replaced with equally compelling/entertaining/interesting... and that's where the catch is.

It appears to me that the female voices do encourage more expressing type convo that IMO appears to contribute to the 'fullness' feeling you are referring to.

That said, like U, I've talked to quite a few peeps here that I really dug. Met T here, and life has been significantly impacted by the only forum I've ever been, or ever will be with.

Sides, it may not be as wild like before, however that's just following the general trend of social networking in culture. Still good times.

Yeah.

It's a lot of things. Some of the old lightning rods have moved on. Also, moving Politics and Religion to separate sections took some piss out of C&C as well.

I still like it, but it's lost some of its zing for sure.

Still good, but there are less wars if any at all. I would be lying if I said I didn't miss those e-fights.

Not so much the conflict as someone revealing feelings, that others feel, better yet... some may not be able to identify it, but then some one translates that sentiment/feeling into words, and it hits U with that vibe of, Holy Shit, I feel that... so true.
I dig that.

Yeah, Cdub has been the last one to unleash, but in a proficient manner that I agreed with.

Yeah... holy shit, I see that.

Yeah, Cdub was the last one to perform this.

I still enjoy the memememe threads. Glad can be amusing too.

yup, it's tamer.

why? less work for the mods, less liability for admin. plus, letting flame wars and drama fester in chat doesn't bring in new members for the site, but it does lose paying members who are either driven away or disgusted by it. EF is a business and although I've fought to keep chat as loose as possible, the fact remains that what's good for business and keeps the site running and profitable is what will work.

I'm still here. :)

Admittedly I was all for BRR's proposed changes 1-2 years back, in hind sight I preferred political & religious threads in chat as they were good for eliciting emotional responses & subsequent people baiting / flaming, plus it kept the section busier.
