It will never happen, but that money saved could be used in better ways imo. What would we do with all those soldiers if we close the bases abroad?

We will never have a strong presence at the US boarders.

The socialist left would lose out on the Hispanic vote if we stopped their cousins from entering America.

If we stopped the influx of drugs from Mexico there would be no need for all those DEA agents and all those prisons. The War on Drugs, remember?

I'm not sure how factual this is or not, but i could see
something like this happening.
i think this could spark a minor revolt in this country and fuel
a raise of nationalism and hawkish politics

I think the article is based on the fact N Korea has tried missile launches in the past on July 4. Their type O dong sucks and has yet to make a successful launch. Just like their first nuke test was pathetic...it was equal to a tractor trailer filled with TNT.
