Lincoln Navigator or Cadilac Escalade

Cardinal Slin

New member
Which one would you go for?

In terms of servicing, quality and so on?

I'm still undecided on a car!

Both will be 2008 model!

Neither, unless you're a gangsta wannabee.

But of those two, the Escalade.

I have a friend that bought the Escalade last year and has about 50k on the odometer with no major problems. Park assist goes out often!

WHY would you spend that kind of Big Bucks for a vehicle based on a lowly PICK UP TRUCK???

if u want style and luxury buy a town car or a lexus.

I definitely want an SUV nowadays. Cherokee SRt8 is too much for too little - it looks cheap...

Escalade seems interior is plastic like

NFL = Navigator. NBA = Escalade.

+1

Gas is going to go up eventually, probably within the next two years it'll be back in the $4.00 range. WTF do you want 12 mpg or less. Plenty of other vehicles would serve your purposes with better mileage.

I live in the Middle East, a GCC country wher oil is as cheap as bottled drinking water...

card, curious but why would you want a 4*4 living where you do?
is their ever a need or is it just for show? are peeps into
desert cruising? (big out here in the nevada desert...lotsa peeps with desert buggies)
and finally, does having either one of those cars, does it stick out due to being uncommon?
or is their a lotta them there?
hurry up already damn soonnn

Hell of a lot of SUVS and 4x4s - the most common are Supercharged RangeRovers, Audi Q7s, Cayenne Turbos and X5s

A number of people do take them out in to the desert and have barbeques out there, sometimes camping trips but the majority of them willdo nothing more than climb curbs with them to park easier...

Over here a car is more a status symbol than anything else..

A number of Esclades, Armadas and Yukons. I think the least common 4x4 out here is the Navigator but I just like the looks of it.

I am holding off for another few months as I have a feeling prices will be coming down more and offers such as free insurance and free servicing will be going up! :)

Word. Gimme a Touareg TDi instead so I can do real off-road. I dont have enough street cred to own an Escalade.

I know two people who both had Touraregs and both got stuck in the sand...

I know others who haven't but not very bloody useful for a 4x4

Tourareg - perhaps a v8 or a w12 but nothin else period!

They offer free insurance over there?

Yep, some companies have free insurance and free registration packages as well as free servicing for a year or 3 or 5 yrs and of course manufacturers warranty, some free roadside assistance....

If you play your cards right and know how to bargain, you can get all of the above, now more so than ever.

i just wouldn't get 4*4 if i didn't need it.
cooler mods imo for 2*2 suvs...lower kit big wheels.
you gonna do anything cool or keep it stock?

CS, is that a pic of a monitor's baby in ur avi?

huh? the front wheel drive lincoln continental was based on a "lowly taurus", true...but the lincoln town car is somewhat similar to the rear wheel drive ford crown victoria.....NOT the front wheel drive taurus.

db (once again) pwned by his own ignorance. :artist:

in anywhere except America pick up trucks are looked down on as lower class transportation. only in America is a truck based vehicle sought out after as a luxury/status vehicle. go figure...

I hear you, it's more about image than anything else otherwise just buy an echo or tiida

I had had my days with supras and skylines and cars like that - now it's more about something that looks and drives nice without the pull of the above.

Maybe over time a set of alloys but not much else, sometimes stock cars look nice stock and cheap ass pimpsta style when kitted out.

If you lower it, I'll cut your face off....

in the "calmer and gentler" times of the past, flashy gansters and politicans drove cadillacs.

old money and people of quiet taste and refinement drove lincolns, chryslers or packards.

In the US, bottled drinking water is .05 an ounce, Gas is about .02 an ounce.

dOOd, wtf is this ounce talk? You sellin smack or the erb?

Here I can fill up a 60 litre tank for just over $20 - I don't know if that's cheap for you guys but for Europe it's a dream come true.

What is this litre you speak of? Is that some gay Euro term or something they use in mooslim countries? We have liters in the US but purchase gas in manly gallons, not girly liters.

20 liters are roughly 676 fluid ounces so it would cost you almost $102.00 to fill up your 60 liter tank with bottled water in the US.

Is there a importing tax in Dubai...
Cardinal... you gotta go back to your Tai Chi...
Seems like the bling has got you a little too usurped lately.
I mean the gear, watch, ride...
Slow down playa...

lol @ the stereotypes though. One of my best friends husband bought her an Escalade. One of my other snotty friends emailed me and said she looked gangster. lol. All because of a car she was driving that she didnt even buy or pick out for herself. She had three boys and two dogs that she takes everywhere. Although I would not have picked that vehicle out for myself, I never would have made such an in the box type statement as gangster. lol.. Of course I brush all Toyota drivers with one brush so Im no better. hahaha

NEITHER ID GET a MERCEDES....

Depending on which brand I go with, it would probably cost me $22.50 to fill mine up!

Wtf is a flash?

Ariel - no import tax but if I import a car the manufacturers out here will not honour the warranty and cause of the heat/humidity out here we have slighly different specs out here on cars than in most other countries. Didn't get the watch in the end, came to my senses but I am needing a new car.

Cindylou, as always you're just a hawt lady with a gangsta pimpin friend

Hayez - Mercs out here are probably like Fords in any other country or maybe that's a bad example. But they are one of the most common cars on the road. The reason I would not have considered it is the only one I like - the ML depreciates way too quickly

card you need something like this to really stick out

Why would they lower it though?

Clearance or not, you buy it cause it's a big car not to make it lower/smaller but having said that you weird Aemricanos actually have cars that jump up and down and bounce around so I just won't ever get you all in my lifetime :)

For that to be ownage, I'd have to actually care about the difference between Continentals and Town Cars. But transport appliances made for people who don't care about cars don't interest me. Besides, being based on a Crown Vic is no great shakes either.

Now, the Taurus-based Lincoln is called an MKS.

Shape is absolutely the same mate? I didn't even look past 2006 but if condition is good, absolutely agree with you

My husband got me an '08 Escalade and it's awesome. Never had a Navigator, test drove one but didn't like it. We did have a Lincoln LS awhile back which I loved. Hubby likes to trade vehicles a lot but the Escalade is by far the best one yet.

the first ones came out in 1999-2001
the second style 2002-2006
the the newest style in 2007-present.
The changed from the 02-06 to the 08' are to different but still yes it newer body style. I actually prefer the look or the 02-06 models over the newest onesbut that just me.The newer ones are just to round looking in my opinion.
If your gonna blow the cash I would go with a H1 Hummer the real deal not the hummer2 or hummer3 but the full out H1
eBay Motors: Hummer : H1 (item 260362409249 end time Feb-24-09 11:20:07 PST)

Might as well be the baddest fucking thing out on the road

wtf, you Aussie's barely make sense at the best of times...

'Murdered out Escalade'

'Do it and post pics'

What the hell does that mean and who quotes themselves in posts :rainbow:

murdered out = black w/ black rims and tints, and anything else you can black out also
