Another school shooting anyone have details? 27 dead I heard

I'm really furious I'm serious....how can this happen

Sorry, I think talking about guns at all is stupid. Why would anyone's mind even go there? Can't people see past the surface

It is stupid. But its inevitable that douche bag politicians will usurp this tradgedy for their anti gun agenda. Which is infuritating that they are leeches using a tradgedy to try and further their agenda. But its also infuritating because its predictable. if you arent a gun owning or gun carrying citizen then you dont understand how those of us who are feel about it.(no offense) . Trust me....talking about gun and the scumbag politics of it right now isnt overshadowing anyones thoughts on here of these kids and their parents.

and like I told her the cat would still have gotten off multiple rounds before someone put him down. If cops who train for a living lose their ability to put rounds on target in high stress situations, you can bet the average american citizen who sits all day at work then goes home and sits on the couch isn't going to fare any better. Would the guy have gotten off on 26 people if at least a couple people were armed in taht school? likely not so I agree something has to be done. But let's stop kidding ourselves ok? Having everybody armed isn't this magical failsafe that's gonna keep everyone from getting shot. Something still has to be done in the way of having to pass rigourous mental and physical tests in order to posess firearms. It's standard practice in the military and LE, so that has to come down to general public.

You don't loose your ability. I can shoot the fuck out a target just like I could at 12 yo when my dad tought me and again when at the shooting range in the army and like I drilled a pig on the first shot at 100+ yards running with no practice that day 10 years later.

people can't take a moment to help a dude off of train tracks to avoid his impending doom nor be bothered to interrupt their game of angry birds long enough to dial 911 cause some dude is lying on the ground bleeding from a gunshot wound. It is what it is now.

i don't think human callousness or indifference is a new thing though, think about the numerous historical brutalities...info age, plus a much bigger population.
and though a rural life doesn't gurantee protection against this sorta thing, it certainly makes them less possible due to the lack of peeps.

I'm in CO and I remember Columbine. My oldest was a baby. There was this awful feeling everywhere you went, it was like then entire state went into depression. They took measures, made the kids wear ID's, check parents at the door. Even now I have to be buzzed in to my son's JR high. But none of this fixes the problem. The shooter was buzzed into this school, as I hear it. I'm not so sure about gun control, I don't think it will work. I think we need more gun education. The common factor in all of the shootings out here (Aurora Theater, Columbine) was that there was a history of mental illness. After working in a hospital that cares for the indigent, I can honestly tell you that services for the mentally ill are nearly nonexistent.

I respect your honesty. With the lock down of schools and guns.. No amount of safety measures will ever protect anyone 100%. But just make ppl more vulnerable and dependent on government. We will have more rights taken away and it will do nothing. And gun control like u said will do nothing.

yes you do it's proven. This is why the military makes you shoot with your heart rate pinging. They've shown even cops miss "badly" when the adrenaline is up. We're not just talking about being off center here ok, we're talking about the equivalent of putting a round into the ceiling at a range.

And hitting a target on the run at 100 yds is not unimpressive, but unless you ran a mile before that run likely your heart was still doing regular beats. Your heart has to be beating out of your chest to simulate an actual combat situation.
