I don't know how many of you are veterans but being a Marine myself and a vet of OIF OEF this kind of shit really pisses me off.

This first guy claims to be a 1st LT in the Army. His name is Michael Wilson, in FB its 1LTwilson. He's posting all over Facebook about how badass he is and shit. Someone added the writing and past it around for laughs lol

The second shit bag, well it speaks for itself. Unless you're a Marine you prob will not know how fucked up his shit is.

That's why I said unless you're a Marine you won't get it. I'll tell you.

First that golden badge at the bottom is the Navy Seal badge, Marines don't wear that regardless.

Second, that green rope on his left side is the French fourragère and is only worn by the 6th Marine Regiment.

That badge above the navy seal badge is a senior EOD officer badge

That badge at the very top that's hard to see is the Naval parachutist badge

He's rocking 50 medals and the last time I checked we were not authorized that many, I only have 7 so I don't have worry about that.

He's over the weight limit even for a "SNCOIC"

He's just fucked up lol it's hard to tell but check out the ribbons, he has the WWII Victory medal lol at the very bottom he has the Kuwait ribbon, if he was there he would have two Kuwait ribbons both issues both different.

I'm pretty sure on the third row down I saw the drill instructor ribbon with an E on it, I call bullshit!

And he has the CAR at the very top, out of that many ribbons i know the CAR doesn't take precedence over all of them.

I wish the guard had been left for its original purpose which was primarily disaster aid with homeland security as a secondary function

citizen soldiers get fucked...disrespected by the ft military..thought of as lesser by congress which is evidenced by simple things like the gi bill...and for all that get to be plucked from a civilian life style to conform to the regimented structured life of the military on practically a whim

I'm not a fan of the NG or any reserve for that matter. The two worlds are night and day, a reservist couldn't function in an AD lifestyle for the simple fact that they wouldn't know what was goin on.

I would slap the piss out of some reservist if they ever came in my unit acting like they do, but being a grunt I'm use to structure and discipline something Reserve and even POG units lack.

If you're gonna do it just go FT and get it over with. But thats all MO

im sure my CSH and ground ambulance appreciated the sentiment that they didnt know how to function after an 18mth deployment

my husband and I have compared notes at length...are deployments were very similar ..he had more suicides in his unit..which was AD
mainly because they didn't know how to re assimilate after returning home

I've been stationed with army ad and reserve. I was highly dissapointed with what I saw. My roommate was in the NG as 11B and is on his shit then on the other hand my chief at my job is a NG truck driver and is the biggest shit bag fat ass I've ever met.

The diff between AD and R is the training, I'm comparing grunts. Army grunts are turds. I dont know shit about com med so your in a league of your own on that one. I appreciate you though don't think I don't. Medics are a big part. I never deployed with any I always had corpman.

Marines, we are the cockiest, most hard headed, short fused, pissed off, arrogant group of people you will ever meet. It normally takes Marines to understand Marines and get along with eachother.

As most of you know I did 12 years in the Navy before I was medically retired and I have been to Iraq 2 times for 6 months at a time. Yea wasn't too fun. I hate people that pretend tp be in the military or especially the ones who fake that they were special forces.

Thats at tall statment. I was an active duty 11b. That is some pretty unjustified trash talk. Why would blanket the 11b's of the army that way? Are ALL marines perfect? I would never say anything like that about any us force, its just an ignorant thing to say.

Shirlz I hate you have such a bad out look on your service as a Guardsman. And yes I'm sure that living a perfectly normal civilian life and being up rooted on a moments notice is quite the bitch. But not the life of a Recon Marine or a Special Forces solider I assure. But unlike you ngrs I don't like to talk about all this shit much, cause I have a diffrent perspective on what war is, and I never seen a got damn Reservist or Guardsman who could have follwed me one day around the mountains and the sesert. Everytime my feet hit the dirt over there my ass was on the line. But I took on the task and the risk of being what I was, so I'm not bitching, but in no way shape or form should you guys be held in the same regard for the jobs you done over there. Army Doga are basically in the same boat as far as I'm concerned, they do the hunmanitarian work after Marines wreck the spot. The only good thing I ever found about the fucking Navy other than any squid will blow you for a pack of smokes, is that I didnt have to swim all the way there to kill mutha fuckkas. And as long as there were Airmen around I never had to go without some of those flash glasses them poosies like to sport around, I'd just take their shit cause nothing they can do about it. And if I said it once I've said it 1000 times Seals ain't shit, I'd wipe my ass with a Team of them any day. Wurd

I will say the chairforce didn't do shit anytime I was there. As for the navy, the only ones I liked we're the Corpsman because they packed the same gear Plus med gear and fought right along side of us.

My bestfriend was a corpsman and was killed last month April 5 two days before his 25 bday. He died while saving Marines that had gone down and subsequently he was killed.

And I agree Seals aren't shit. They don't all go do this crazy shit you see on tv and movies. Only certain teams do and its rare.

It seems to me that everyone I've spoken to in the civi world that was in some branch have always been SF. It never fails. Oh I'm a seal, I'm SF, I'm recon, I'm a para jumper. Lol everytime!

My favorite is the "I can't talk about it cause it would be a breach in my security clearence. Haha what a dong knocker

I have a friend that was a paratrooper but the dude has more than twenty yrs in and eventually reclassed as an 88 mike because he blew out his knees from jumps..he never made a big deal out of it

my husband was a twenty two bravo with sapper and did a shit ton of EOD (hence his current employment) as well as work as a guard in abu ghraib and ironically his security clearance now is higher than when he was in the military...lol

I was a forty eight whiskey with a ground ambulance that was attached to a combat support hospital ..my security clearance was basic

I did not meet my husband in the service contrary to what a lot of people assume
Ive never actually had anyone bullshit me (except SB or Java) in person or online about their service
 
I have USMC 0317 tattooed on the top of my wrist and when people see it they ask me what it means then when I tell them they pop off the "yea I was recon" or the "I'm ex special forces" it never fails, I've had maybe one that was legit.

I arrested a kid one day and when we were strip searching him I seen a tattoo on his back. from shoulder to shoulder he the Marine force recon emblem. I asked him what unit he was in and he said California lol I asked him again and he said SOI (school of infantry)

I asked where he went to BRC and he just looked at me. If he was legit he could of answered this with no prob. Turns out he for kicked out before he completed SOI so he never made it to BRC.

I threatened him about having shit like that, that you never earned and what would happen to him if a real recon Marine caught his poser ass.

Wow thats pretty sad. I had one who claimed to be a para jumper and didn't even know what an M203 was. When I told him he said when he was in it has a different name and they must have changed it. I told him its had that name since Vietnam, he was in his mid 20's.

Marines = primarily travel on Navy Boats!!

Marines = rely on Naval air forces ground support

Marines = Many MOS jobs that are identical the navy.

The idea that Ground pounders are the only important ones is Fucking hilarious!

Airforce- technical maintenance
Navy- primarily medical
Army- bit of a mixture
Marines- we do everything from pilots to artillery to legal and infantry. We are the land sea and air. We are the most underfunded and understaffed branch in the military. We get equipment from other branches nothing new. We have the longest of everything. We are the best and We rule all it's just a plain fact.

We are a dept of the Navy, the mens dept. they are our medics and taxis.
We do not use their AF, we have our own aircrew hence MCAS cherry point, MCAS new river ect....

Navy- Is Not primarily medical, goggle it.

In theater, there are NOT enough Marine air squadrons to Only support marines.

You cant tell me the call "we Need air support, Marine pilots only" Has been called.

LCU, LAR, AAV, the MEU'S, MAGTF they all operate primarily where? That's right from the sea. I didn't say we had a navy I said we operate from land air and sea we have all elements incorporated in our training and in our units.

The only 03 mos that the navy has is 0317 and that's a B billet mos not a primary to them. they don't have grunt.

We rarely get new shit. My first M16 was from Vietnam and had lost all it's blueing was turning purple and had tolerance probs out the ass.

The vehicles we got to use to do runs over to mainside were old ass diesel ford broncos that were so badly rusted you could see the road through the holes in the floorboard.

Unless you were there you can't say shit, I know how shitty my gear was and how badly underfunded we were.

Also I went to boot in 2007.

then they usually give the raped a failure to adapt discharge..thereby negating any va bennies

marines boot camp is harder and involves a much deeper brain washing...no offense

army osut compares but that makes sense because its similar indoctrinations at that point and winds up being the same length at that point

Now that's fucked up. I dont consider coast guard as military. They really don't do shit. Trolling for pirates sounds more like border patrol to me.

Although the rescue guys that go into storms an save ships and shit, yea they got more balls than me. There is no way in hell you'd catch me doing that shit!

the military changed its stance on BCT a while ago and wanted a more "thinking" soldier which hasn't worked out that well honestly

they both give about the same amount of waivers for the same offenses so theyre on par there
navy gives more than the air force, and the coast guard almost never gives a waiver for really anything...

so difficulty of enlisting in any of them goes in order

No offense taken, truth is truth. They make you into what they want you to be. I was 17 when I went so I was easily molded.

My philosophy is that if you get treated like shit all through training you will know how to survive and handle a situation when it happens in combat.

If you pussy foot around and get babied through training, when shit hits the fan you won't know how to handle it and you're gonna get people killed.

Really only Marines can truly know what it's like good and bad to be a Marine and go through what we do but with all that it is I wouldn't trade it in for anything! It was an amazing part of my life that most never experience.

I'm not talking about a training command. My training weapons were shit as well. I didn't get my first A4 till mid 08. When I first got to my unit 2/2 I was issued an A2 and it was a piece of shit. My unit was in the middle of a CMR getting in newer equip from other units. That's when I got the A4.

All of my gear was trash.
My SAPI plates were chipped in the corners and one had a crack down it.
My main pack had a hole in it and was missing straps, my deuce gear was ripped, my butt pack wouldn't zip closed. It was hell trying to get CIF to give me a damn gator neck.

What I'm saying is we don't get new gear, we get shit passed from other units or branches before they buy new gear.

You can most times look at a ngr and tell if he's SF or not. Funny thing to me is nobody in the civilan world has a clue WTF a Force Recon Marine is. I can tell by your comments you are Recon or have trained closely with Recon, because only in the world of Recaon Marines do we know Seals for what they really are, Poosies.

It normally takes me about three or four questions before I call bullshit. You can tell in their demeanor, voice and my personal fav, their eyes they never lie.

I'm originally an 11 but billeted out as a 17. I Have close friends who are 21's but I'm not a big fan of 50 min water tread lol do I didn't even try.

I was young and hunghoe when I joined so I cross trained as much as I could within the 03 field and learned quite a bit about all grunt jobs. I couldn't get that mortar bullshit down though lol

I'm not really sure why everyone wants to be a Navy Seal???

In personal exp all I've found that comes from the "I'm a Marine, navy seal or SF" crap is "oh you think you're a bad ass huh well how about me and my friends kick your ass" lol it just causes probs amongst civis trying to be hard.

It's more often than not the wash outs who claim to be SF. I see it all the time, and don't even fuck with them anymore, because they're going to keep telling mfkrs they're a SEAL next week at the bar anyways, even though they don't know what SWIC is.

I'm 0331 and 2/5 weapons attatched to Recon a lot, and there is a pretty big difference between battalion recon and force recon. I wouldn't want that shit as part of my every day life, those bastards are insane to do all that training. They also are not much into telling everyone within earshot how awesome they are, so anyone going on about being SF is usually full of shit..
 
Oh I almost forgot, since I'm rarely in C&C and don't get to say this as much as I would like, and being that this thread title defines java to a T and he's probably gonna see it via alter or however, I would like to extend a very sincere and meaningful "go fuck yourself"
