Is there a sumo wrestling league in the US?

For some unknown reason, i have this major urge to watch sumo wrestling. Since Americans are getting fat as hell, you'd think it'd catch on.

Yeah i saw Goldfinger with Fat Bastard last night, but anyways...

even better -- female fatty patty sumo wrestling! OMFG!!!

well In Holland there's a league. If small.

I don't necessarily think the US would be that good at it. These guys aren't just fat. they are almost like strongman competitors who went crazy on a bulk. they are very, very strong.

Yes there is an American sumo league. Japan is trying to get sumo as an olympic sport so there should be exhibition sumo at the olympics this year. There is one black guy on the us team 6'8" 700lbs. The guy looks like a house on stilts. Sometimes it comes on espn2 late at night.

Actually, the gym I train in has 2 professional sumos; amazingly, they train harder then 90% of the ppl. in the gym and are very nice folks - had a chat with one and he seemed like a down to earth guy (at 625, 6'4 lol).
