zane vs arnold

Hate to tread on someone's dream's, but you do not have the genetics to be a pro bodybuilder amigo.

I wanted to be a pro bodybuilder from the age of 13-17 and I trained my ass off.
I ate right, took any and all supplements I had read about. I emulated routines of the champs from the 60's and 70's. Tried HIT. Tried most any technique you can think of.

I eventually came to the realization that I was a hard working sumbitch, but did not have the physical genetics to ever compete on stage. This dawned on me finally one day when a guy I had known for a couple years(tongen dude) walked into the gym and took his shirt off to start working out. It was the beginning of the school year and he had been lifting all summer and that's it. He had no clue what he was doing. One of the best physiques I have ever seen. He even appeared to have that muscle maturity look you hear about. Very strong as well. He was 5'8, 165 and probably 7% bf with 16 inch arms and a 27" waist. Those are stats. Easily coulda been a pro BB. That was with about 3 months training with no clue on training or nutrition.

Over the last 13 years I have met and known people with no to minimal training time/experience that with proper eating and training could compete on stage within 3-4 months and probably win a show. PURE amazing genetics and that is why you will never be a pro BB.

Sorry to break it to you. Maybe you could be a great powerlifter or olympic lifter, but BB, I think not.

Oh ya, that B/W clip of Zane posing on the Olympia stage was awesome.

I would say his physique that he presented on that stage was/is one of the most perfect ever to grace this earth.

younguns, I know I'm not in on much of this. But, I just want to say good luck to you. You'll find out how hard developing quality muscles are if you work hard and stick with it. At that point, you'll get a little bit of what's being said here. I don't think your genetics are bad at all and you've got a good start. But, a lot of what is being said here is true. Conditioning with good muscle mass is a bitch. I started out at 140 lbs when I was 22 and within a couple years I was 195 and then 220 + but unrefined. I've spent the last two years adding quality to my physique. Right now I sit at about 215 (I'm going to be 28 in a few weeks so it's been 6 years altogether) and just under 10% bf, but look way better than I did at 233. Whatever a person does in bodybuilding requires hard work juice or no. And, I'll admit I use, but have found out it's not the magic pill I used to think it was and now it is just a part of what I do: hard diet, training, rest and then a couple short cycles a year to cap things off. The first couple years are the easiest, but I'm guessing you can take the grind. I know I'll never be a pro or even top level amature. You have a lot more of a chance than me judging by your pics, but it will take a LOT of hard work. Again, good luck.
