Read an interesting comparo in C&D today while waiting to get the front end alignment done on the Vette at the dealer. The editors picked 4 sporty coupes ranging in price from 30k to 37k, Nissan the cheapest and BMW the priciest.
They all scored well, but the fell out 4th to 1st place in the order I listed them in the thread title. My pics would've been the 4th place car and the 1st place car.
I liked the Solstice GXP mostly b/c it just looks fab as a motherfucker. (and it's got a targa top)
Plus for an extra $650 the dealer can install a stage II boost chip that makes it good for 300hp. The GXP is said to have kinda cheapo looking interior and only pulled .87 on the skidpad with the stocker tires and coils. It'd need some tweaking to handle like it looks.
Top fav though is the 370z, which won the comparo. For only 32k you get ball busting power and (sweet baby jesus!) almost a full g of lateral acceleration. Interior on the new 370's is said to be a real improvement over the 350z's.
