I've used like 3 smilies in 6+ years
one by accident and I just left it there

i don't ever remember saying the quote in spartacus's sig.
i must have though, but i don't know why he'd use it.

i must be special.

anyway. more annoying than smileys or ... is TONS of ..........
like when someone writes..........and they space their thoughts with it.........that's fucking annoying........... but, so are "!!!"

i hate those people.

what I don't grasp is how dots or smilies have anything to do with being "smug". Words are one dimentional on the screen, with no vioce inflection or the ability to watch a persons's body language, the true meaning is subjective in most cases. Hence the smilies, which I rarely use, except the occasional, :-) at times. The dots after the statement IMO mean that they are through with that thought, but not necessarily the conversation. If another post/ thought is given, they may have somethng else to add. But it fails to warrant the descriptive term, smug.

Besides, my post was a simple question, "what's wrong with..." not being a smartass or disagreeing with anyone, just a simple question.

Yeah nimbus, please keep everything on about a 5th grade level, you are known for your inciteful and thought provoking posts and with my limited ability to grasp the highter planes of thought, especially about dots and emocons which you are so eloquent, I don't get to join in the reindeer games if you get too abstruse...

yoo dude i was typing that sentence to show the implied meaning that the use of "..." has. i wasn't actually saying that as a serious statement. i can see how that could've been misinterpreted though

I found the quote the other day when I did a search for something and it summed it up
