that start your car up, put it in gear, and start driving all within 10 seconds are morons. complete f'ing morons. shit pisses me off. why you ask?

let's look at it this way.

when you have sex, 99% of us prefer to have things nice and slippery. we like things wet. when things aren't wet, we get rubbed raw. it hurts in a bad way.

your camshaft(s) and valve train likes things wet. they like oil on them. they're at the top of the engine. you need to build up pressure to get oil up there. they get wet, they like it. they get rubbed dry, they don't like it. you wear things out faster.

if you're gonna start your car up and just take off 5 seconds later and not let it warm up, your engine will take revenge on you. it will one day come out from under the hood, pull out it's camshaft(s), and dry fuck you in the ass in a most unpleasant way. (i bet only 1% of the population would enjoy the fucking it will give.) it will either do this literally, or your local dealership will assist when they assrape you with the repair charges for the damage you have incurred.

this annoys me to no end. i hear your poor pathetic engines screaming and crying for mercy. i saw a stupid asswad in a WRX STi do this to his car today. i had to hold back from removing him from the car and beating him in a manner he'd never forget. torture. pure torture.

your damn investment. i know that i personally don't like to get assraped on my investments.

which leads to my next topic.....2/3 of drivers on the road should be shot, hung, or quartered and drawn, because that's how many people on the road HAVE NO FUCKING CLUE AS TO HOW TO DRIVE. get off the fucking road. go crash into a ditch. go drive off a bridge. i don't care, just get out of my fucking way.

note - this thread doesn't apply to everyone. those of you that it does, you know who you are

I always let my car warm up in the winter. Never gave it much thought in the summer time. I don't put it into drive INSTANTLY...usually I'm looking for a CD or something first.

By the time the red "Oil" light goes off when you start your car, you've got enough oil pressure to drive.

yeah, when the red light goes off, you've got pressure.

you don't necessarily have enough lubrication on the cams and head though. takes a little bit. 30-60 seconds is a good guideline.

and that 2/3 of people need to get off the damn road.

motorcycle.....i always start mine up, zip up my jacket, put on and strap up helmet, put on my gloves, then i'm ready to go. takes a minute or so.

30-60 seconds before driving off. then you've got oil up on the head(s) and cam(s).

it just gets annoying to watch happen, because all of your used cars are prospective "new" cars for me until i'm done college and have a real job.

I was waiting for you to follow that up with...

I then took off towards the 13 barrels I was about to jump in front of Arnolds Drive-In.

I NEVER start & drive off... I care way too much about my ride! Whether it's summer or winter time, I usually wait up to 3-5 minutes in the winter & up to 3 in the summer. But I'm not sittin' in the car lookin' like a dork - no, I have remote start on my ride so by the time I get inside, it's ready to go!

it's a pretty angry thread over quite a minor issue.

I like it. Crak, you da man. I can really tell a difference when I take that 30 seconds vs. 'pushing' it a little too soon. (I'm not about to say in which situation. Perverts.)

I've given some thought to the Acme A-hole Remover grenade launcher. The secret is that it has to flip the offending car off to the side so it doesn't block the road in front of you. Very tricky. And then there's cratering to consider. Might actually be easier to just fit your own car with jump jets and leapfrog the SOB... but then we have to do something about all the damn power lines. Frustrating, ain't it?

One of my cars has 245K miles on it and I've never had any engine problems.

It must like dry-humping.

Dry humping is what some of us have time for only. I usually take some time before pulling out but sometimes when I'm late I just go.

oh, i need to add this.....

girlfriend's car beeps for maybe 15 seconds after you start it. i had to tell her that beeping isn't the "backing up" beep like semis and whatnot have.

Digger, i'm glad you liked it. i've enjoyed some of your humor myself. glad to return the favor.
