The Terminator said:It depends. If you are already 25 lbs. over your genetic ceiling then it will be near impossible to make any substantial gains while off (or to even maintain up and above your genetic limit for that matter...)

thats dissapointing to hear....
i beleive you could still make gains but they just won't be 10 lbs a month gains. more like 2.5 lbs a month.
Paulos said:I made decent size gains inbetween cycles, strength gains came fine also.
I'm done with AAS for about a year so we'll see what's really up.![]()

The good news is that alot of guys (even using AS) have not reached that genetic ceiling yet...(alot won't even know when they do hit it, lol).
~ThaGame~ said:i still believe that "genetic limit" is a copout. no offense to terminator, you have made some good points.
its not about genetics, its about the desire and effort you put forth. most IFBB pros are under 6 feet tall right? if they can weigh 300 lbs at 5'9....what do you think they would say about genetic limits?

Well it certainly could be argued, but not one pro is anywhere near his genetic limit (they are all WAY over it). All the genetic limit implies is that is how far you can go NATURALLY. Todays pros are on all year round, so they are probably the worst examples to use...
But if these guys were forced to come off for 2 years (with no BB'ing drugs whatsoever) they would probably revert back to that "ceiling" again, and be nowehere near where they are at now...
