Now is this the email that NOBODY could have gotten unless elite was hacked? Or are you talking about a different hotmail one?

I received a package the other day (nothing illegal) some medication that is prescribed to me from my doctor and they made me sign. They said that all packages from outside the US get a signature. I guess they are cracking down.

I had to sign for a package the other day which came from Europe also, it was packaged very very well and everything went fine, I was suprised I had to sign for it though.

Thanks for sticking this, quadsweep. I know you have a lot to lose, as do many of us, and I appreciate that you have stuck your neck out to be a helpful advisor on this board.
We all take some risks when supporting this board financially, and I trusted that the administrators understood that and would see to our protection in return.
This is obviously a big problem, because the silence from headquarters is deafening. I just feel we are owed an explanation, so that we can take the necessary precautions if bad shit is happening.
Real men own up to mistakes, set the record straight, and make it right!

Quad it sounds like you may need to do a little house cleaning if youve got so much at stake Bro,,good luck

BTW-I just read that Sept. 2nd article at the business week website.Very fucking bad karma!!

I'm getting some of the same shit. It seemed to start after I ordered Nelson's Montana's book, which I have yet to recieve. That leads to another issue I ordered the goddamm book weeks ago and have e-mailed George half a dozen times without response. If you sell shit you should answer e-mails, from customers who try to support your site, not ignore them. For all I know your selling lists of our names to whom ever.

I wonder if elitefitness has ever has a network, host and application security assessment performed by a major (and reputable - not a small mom and pop shop) security provider? Would be nifty if they did a comprehensive check - and posted it in a secure location for paying people (platinum) to see (with the security sensitve areas blacked out maybe - IP addy's system names etc etc). They could also perform periodic scans after the initial scan and provide them as proof too - this would be a GREAT value add in my opinion.

Not plausible. Way too expensive for a thorough scan. Most security assessments (including those done by the majors) are nothing more than a nessus scan with a couple of custom scripts thrown in. A code audit is needed. Unfortunately it's way too cost prohibitive.

For those who are getting emails with "real names" in them, a couple questions:

Are you platinum?

Do you access elite from a work computer?

Is your "real name" in your computer properties?

Is your "real name" set as the registered user un My Computer properties?

My best guess at this point is someone is using some javascript injection attack to grab the registered user name off your computing or something similar. Frackal's post is certainly interesting. I'd like to hear his response to the above questions.

Quad

The last package i got came registered too which never happens. I think we use the same guy. Mabey it has to do with his new reshippers.

The stuff that is naming us by our real names is coming from caliberdesign, according to traceroute. Who is caliberdesign? Just scroll down to the fine print at the very bottom of this page.

Hmm, i go with a broadband local service provider, I'm not platinum, and i have no problems with either elite or ziplip.
Good luck, all...

It appears to only be affecting the platinum members because they are the only ones that you have their real names in the database.

How hard can it be to run a security scanner; find the whole, patch it and run a virus scanner to get rid of the virii?

I Got a few of those. WTF?

I BOUGHT ELITEFITNESS SOURCE BOOK, BEFORE BUYING THEY TOLD ME TO OPEN UP AN ZIPLIP ACCOUNT,I THINK THIS IS A SCAM,CUZ LATER ON I RECEIVED A E-MAIL ON ELITEFITNESS WINDOWWASHER PROGAM.:fro: STAY COOOL!JUST CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT:confused:

I dont know of an E-Mail serv that 100% safe.

They are all scams they are never 100% safe. I dont care what you say. They can dig out any info on your pc they want thats why it's best never to register a new PC under your real info.

I just read that article that Elite sent out to us on the 3 ways to protect ourselves & it turned out to be an advertisement. For spycop & evidence terminator at $ 50 each.

what do you guys think about that?

What the FUCK, Over?

I'm thinking it's about time for a FUCKING ADMIN, or GEORGE if he is the one running this site to step the fuck up and answer some of these questions. This is getting very goddamn old, and as far as I'm concerned you are 100% to blame for any and all issues that arise from this supposedly "secure" email issue.

You have been made 100% aware of the problems, and have chosen not to respond to your customers questions other than the skating around the issue with answers that are half ass at best.

If you do have some info please post it before you whole userbase decides to goto a web site with some customer service skills , and or atleast the balls to step up and honestly admit when they made a mistake.

Jonnboy posted about this twice that i'm aware of tonite on the anabolic forum and the threads were removed. Why?

What was he asking that was deemed so dangerous? His questions don't seem to be getting answered here so i don't blame him for posting a thread about it outside of this thread.

Why remove his threads so quickly?

George did reply. He posted that "news" letter offering to sell us internet security software. Pretty insulting, I think. I just tried to access my elitemail account, and was asked to download a new VM module, as a new user!!!!!! I ain't downloading jack shit. Something stinks here.

I know this info is repetitive but I thought I'd share it as well. When I signed up for my platinum account I used my email address from my ISP. That email address has never been posted anywhere on this site or have I given it to anyone on elite. Thats where this email was sent to.

Here's the header (to protect myself from further harassment I edited my info)

From my experience it looks like caliderdesign.com network is infected with a virus. From all the emails I'm not convinced that someone hacked into the system and is manually email us. I think it's a virus.
