as a prospective college student in '01 I toured UCLA. One of the things the tour guide mentioned (to brag) was that al gore taught an upper division political science course.

Ask yourself, honestly... could george bush (PERSONALLY!) assemble a coherent lesson plan, deliver lectures, create exams, and answer questions on the fly about advanced political theory?

And before you say "it doesn't matter," whatever happened to the best and the brightest? Don't you want the smartest most qualified fucker to get the job? I don't consider coke abuse a resume item.

don't insult teachers. leading a class requires a helluva lot more than "speaking eloquently"

here are a few traits that are necessary to teach effectively
-verbal communication
-organization
-determination (note: this does NOT mean "staying on message")
-leadership (note: this does NOT mean "uses tough words")
-and perhaps overlooked, competency in the field

which of these does w. HIMSELF possess?

That is pretty flawed logic on your part. Just because you would hope a president could teach a class on political science doesn't mean anyone who can teach a class on political science could be president.

That's similar to saying a dog is required to be hairy, and if something is hairy it required to be a dog.
